We were without heat this past November. Since our exsiting units were over 20 years old, we purchased a new high efficiency furnace, humidifier, and air conditioner, which also required new venting etc, to be installed. Dave and my husband discussed some items that my husband also wanted. Some of the smaller things were not mentioned in the paperwork but everything was still done as discussed. The other Dave, Tony, and Gary came to install it in less that a week and were all very professional and did a great clean installation job. They paid attention to details and made sure everything was correct. It is getting harder and harder to find companies that do good quality work. South Suburban and their employees are people that take pride in their work and stand behind it. A business like businesses from the old days that worked on a handshake and you could trust them. They are definitely a trustworthy company.

South Suburban H & AC went out of their way to restore heat to our house after the December 2017 - January 2018 deep freeze ended and a pipe in our radiant heating system burst, leaving us without heat for almost 5 days. This house was built in 1951 and has hot water heating pipes between the plastered ceiling and the attic insulation. For 66 years there had been one section of pipe that was routed at the top of an outside wall without consequence. but on Sunday night, January 7th at 10 pm as the outside temperature reached 32 degrees for the first time in 20 days, the pipe ruptured, flooded the room's ceiling and shut down the hot water heating of the entire house.
The ceiling was removed (Phoenix Restoration did a great job) to allow access to the area with the ruptured pipe on Thursday afternoon, and I called South Suburban. Luckily the weather had warmed up and the house was at 60 degrees at 5 pm. However, a cold front came through overnight and dropped the outside temperature to below 20 degrees by dawn.
South Suburban rescheduled John, one of their experienced workers to arrive at the house at 1:30 on Friday afternoon. He was able to cut out (photo) the section of pipe with the rupture (photo) and re-route the pipe inside of the wall (photo) after custom making copper fittings for the old pipe before the new piece of copper could be soldered in place.
John then was able to bleed air from the system of pipes and restart the hot water boiler. At 4:45 pm on Friday, heat was restored, and the house temperature started to recover as the outside temperature was down to 10 degrees. The weekend temperatures did not exceed 20.
Dave, the president of the company was very responsive, and I cannot thank him and his worker John enough squeezing my house into their busy schedule and taking the required time to restore heat to the house.

My A/C was leaking water for some reason. I called SSHAC and they were highly responsive. The same day Appt. went from later in the day until just a few hours. Their technician, Justin arrived, put on his shoe protectors and went to my basement. He diagnosed and resolved the issue within 20 minutes. Very professional and he communicated with me every step of the way. WE will be using South Suburban Heating and cooling going forward.

A few years ago our furnace failed and we needed to buy a new one. Upon getting multiple estimates South Suburban was not the cheapest or the most expensive, but Dave made it clear that they do quality work and offer a quality/reliable product, which they absolutely delivered. The technicians were knowledgeable, respectful, and efficient.

A few weeks ago our AC needed to be replaced. It was an old 1992 model that finally failed. We once again called for multiple estimates. South Suburban actually came in on the lower end of the estimates. We decided to use them again. The same tech came to install our AC unit, so I knew the quality of work I was going to receive.

If you want a good quality reliable unit (AC or Furnace) and installation, go with South Suburban. We highly recommend them. Remember, you get what you pay for!!! Thanks again!!!!

Brain, the technician who serviced my air conditioning units was prompt, courteous and efficient. He addressed my questions and concerns. He checked up on my rebate question at the end and saved me another $25. That’s always a nice way to end a service call!

The office staff was also very courteous and helpful. I received a call telling me about the coupons that were available on their website plus information about the rebate program.

I confidently recommend South Suburban for your hearing and air conditioning needs. One last comment: everyone I dealt with was friendly!

The service representative arrived on time, was respectful of my home by utilizing shoe covers, and respectful of my personal space by using a face mask. He was cordial, informative, and unobtrusive in the performance of his duties. Thank you. I truly appreciated his professionalism.

We called South Suburban Heating to have a new central air unit installed and some ducts replaced. Dave was great to deal with. He very clearly explained our options and they were able to get us on the schedule and do the install in about a week. We ended up also needing to replace the exhaust cap on the roof that must have been lost some time ago, and Gary was able to custom fit one for us at a very reasonable price. They even called us just to follow up on how everything was working. Overall great service. Will definitely use them
again.
