Indoor Comfort

Our 26 years old furnace and AC concerned me with the impending heat wave and that the AC recently caused the 220 circuit breaker to open but still worked after closing it buy nosier running than before. I looked for a local Carrier Factory Authorized dealer nearby and found Indoor Comfort. I called and was able to have the owner Steve come out the next day in the morning who was very helpful and a good listener. Steve examined the old equipment and explained my options including the pros and cons of the higher efficiency Carrier units and the ECM blower motor. We went with the Carrier Performance 80 furnace with the ECM variable speed blower and the Carrier Comfort 13 SEER AC unit. Steve gave me a quote that I was very pleased with and it included 10 years parts and labor warranty. He also left a package full of helpful information and included his companies insurance details. I emailed Steve back that I approved the quote and the install was scheduled the following Monday.

Eric and Joe arrived Monday morning. I would describe them both as professional, friendly, helpful, and efficient. They were done with the total install by early afternoon with everything working. The install of the furnace and AC unit looks fantastic and they had to do some sheet metal work to match the new furnace to the duct work which looks very professional. The AC unit was put on a new pad outside. They also installed a new Honeywell T4 Pro thermostat that is easy to use. Eric and Joe tested both heat and AC and made sure we inspected their work and understood how to shut down the furnace, remove the front service panel, change the large 20X25X4 filter, work and humidifier and open it up to change the pad, and work the thermostat. Outside they showed us the new Carrier AC unit and explained how to clean the coil with a garden hose. They also cleaned up so well you would never know they had been there and were very careful moving equipment inside our home. Eric left us with the owners manuals for everything and contact info for Indoor Comfort.

We are thrilled with out new Carrier Performance 80 furnace and 13 SEER Comfort AC unit. The AC unit is so much more quite than the old one and the airflow from the new furnace with the ECM variable speed blower is terrific. With some adjustment of dampers in the basement we now have strong airflow in the upstairs rooms too. Not only does it cool well but humidity control is excellent too. The ECM furnace motor starts slowly so it is not noisy on startup. The Honeywell thermostat working with the new Carrier equipment has eliminated the wide range of temperature swing we used to experience before between furnace blower startup and shutdown. The AC worked like a champ last week during the couple days where the outside temperature reached 95F. With the new Comed smart meter I am able to check my electrical use daily and after 2 weeks comparing days with the same temperature our electric bill use shows about 40 percent less than before!!

All in all we are very pleased with our experience with Indoor Comfort and highly recommend them. To me it was important to use a Carrier Factory Authorized dealer with certified installers. Indoor also has a very strong installation guarantee which was very important to us. I waited two weeks before posting the review to have time to experience our new Carrier heating and AC system. I called their office recently to see if I needed to register my new Carrier equipment with Carrier to get the full 10 year parts warranty and they told me it was already done by them!

The technician was on time, polite and performed the clean and check in a timely manner and explained what was done.

As usual, Kevin provided very good service, was prompt and courteous, and I will call for the fall maintenance of the furnace.
