I think I have finally found a HVAC Company that actually cares about the customer AND has knowledgeable techs, specially for older systems.

I can say that the office staff, tech and general manager of the company bent over backwards to get what started as an annual furnace checkup repaired as the furnace failed just before the checkup. As they say, timing is everything and when push came to shove, they demonstrated the very best of service.

Will I use them going forward? I SURE WILL!

During Chicago's recent heat wave which had temps over 100 degrees, my air conditioner went out. It was old and needed to replaced. G&R was out the next day to get a new one installed. There were some issues with the house and receptivity to the new system, but they were very clear and communicative about them and fixed them as quickly as they could. The new AC is up and running and keeping the house very comfortable!

Is there a minus for the stars? If so, I would give it. After Comfort Air was sold to G & R Heating and Air, I was hoping that the great service and support from Comfort Air would transition to the new company. I WAS WRONG!
Had an issue with my AC in October of 2021. G & R sent out a tech and said there was no Freon in the unit. They completely charged it but also noted there might be a leak in the system and may need to replace it. Asked that I keep an eye on it next time I used it in the spring. April of 2022 I turn on the unit and it's not cooling at all. Call G & R and told the dispatcher what the tech told me in the fall. Asked that they come out and fix it with the possibility that I might need a quote to replace. They sent someone to give me a quote to replace, but not to fix. Said I would be emailed a quote and someone would follow up to schedule another appointment. 2 days go by before I have to call to get the quote and schedule a tech. Earliest the tech can come out is 1 week so I patiently wait and gave them my availability for that day. 1 week goes by and it's 3 days into a 6 day spell of upper 80 degree days. Tech calls me 5 minutes left of the window of availability and asks if he could be late. I said no since I wouldn't be home but what about later in the day. Dispatcher calls me back and says there is no availability that day and it would be another two days before someone could come back. I told them to forget it and I would look for a new service provider.
I found someone who came out and looked at the unit the next day. Right away they found the problem that there were two loose connections; one on the outside unit that he could hand loosen, and the other was inside the house on the unit itself. Either/both places could be the cause of the leak. These things don't just loosen themselves; it must have been negligence on the previous G & R tech's part as they were the last to service the unit. The new company tightened both connections and fully charged the unit with Freon and I now have a cool house.
Stay away from G & R Heating and Air unless you want to throw your time and money out the window with false promises and shoddy work.
