Technician came over to work on my outdoor ac unit. While he was working on it his boss called me and wanted to give me an estimate on a new system, when I told him that I simply wanted to get my old unit blowing cold air for now and would consider a new system in the future, he called his technician and told him to "walk-away".
It seems because the supervisor couldnt make the sale on a whole new system, he wasn't willing to help me with my immediate problem.

The tech showed up. Seemed unhappy, and grumpy. I am having dryer problems. The drum can be lifted up, and makes a thumping noise while running. Right away he tells me, he has no idea what could be going on. I had to unplug the dryer for him, the plug is behind the washer near the floor next to a counter. Had to pull the washer to do that. No biggie, I was just trying to be helpful. I watched him for awhile. He was having trouble disassembling the control panel. I had it apart awhile back, to see if I could repair it myself. So I showed him how to get it off, one screw.
I left the area, for him to do his work. After a time, he called me in said he no idea what was wrong, but he did replace these plastic bearings. I said to him, well I guess I'm going to pay around eighty dollars for nothing. He said, let me go call the boss and see what I can do. He went to his van for a few minutes. I went in to check the dryer. He hadn't plugged it in, but had pushed the washer back. I had to pull the washer back out, to plug it in. When he return, the first thing he said was, " I've replaced a lot of these GE dryer drums, they expand". This is the same guy who told me earlier he had no idea what could be wrong. I asked him again about being charged eighty dollars, I guess I was smiling. At that point he got angry, and said something about me smiling at him, and that he came in to tell me he wasn't going to charge me. He turned around left my house, slammed my door, and left the gate to my backyard opened, I have dogs.
He was so rude!! And I believe he knew of expanding drum, since he has replaced so many of them

For that reason I will never use Staats again, or recommend them.

The lady on the phone was very nice.

In the two times that I've used Staats Service Today, they fixed the problem. That's the good part.

They have taken a long time to do so each time, however. Granted they did need to get a part for my washer, they seem to have had it sent extra-slow.

Their customer service was now awful, but it was only fair. The ladies at the front desk were a little rough around the edges. They certaintly didn't go the extra mile to let me know of progress, delays, or to ask me if I wanted the needed part to be sent quicker. And, since I never interacted with the service tech, I asked the ladies to have him give me a call to explain what he did and what I need to do to keep this problem from happening again. But, no call.

Lastly, I did drop off and pick up my utilities on my own because they were going to charge me a LOT to do the pick up/drop off for me.

I believe I will be looking for another repair place if I have the need in the future. I'm hoping for better service.

I had them come to check my furnace and shortly after that, it wasn't working right. A repairman came out the check and it was working fine but the next day, problems again. A repairman came out and checked it again and found a loose wire that was the problem. Hard to find, but seems to be fixed now. I've had them fix appliances in the past, also. Everyone I have dealt with was very professional and courteous. I would recommend them.

The tech came out on a ticket on our dishwasher not draining ... I called our home warranty on Friday due to the fact that the dishwasher wasn’t draining and that very weekend our kitchen sink decided to create a problem. We called for Mr Sewer (awesome gentleman) to fix that ... both were scheduled to be here on Monday but Stats arrived first ... the tech said it was not the dishwasher but the drain was clogged and that was our problem ... unclog the drain problem fixed ... well, Mr Sewer arrives in the afternoon fixing the other problem, but in the meantime Stats tech sends a report to the warranty company stating the reason the dishwasher isn’t pumping out is due to the stoppage. Needless to say, Stats has caused me undue stress because they didn’t want to do what was necessary in checking out the pump. IF he had pulled the dishwasher out he would have seen for himself that the drain line from the dishwasher to the drain pipe was clean and free of debris.

Can’t say enough good things about our experience with Staats! Very professional and helpful. The girls in the office were very friendly and helpful. Brandon, the service pro, was super!! So thankful they were the ones we contacted!

I bought an air conditioner to replace an old, inefficient unit. We don't even use air very much, but just needed an upgrade. The weather got colder and in trying to turn on the heat, the fan came on. We have a boiler and have no need for a fan for heat. When I called, the receptionist tried to say it was not their responsibility. It is taking their "Technician" hours to fix something that was working before they came here in the first place. Staats used to be a respected name.

First of all tech came to the door through the garage (open, but crowded with both cars parked inside) vs the front door. This is not professionally correct at all unless I know you personally. Tech did seem to be very knowledgable. We described the same issue after he arrived (on time as scheduled) as we did on the phone, suspected igniter issue (delayed ignition, then "booms" on, can still bake, but obviously not normal). He concluded confidently that the issue was the igniter - they go out gradually. BUT he never even looked/touched the oven - didn't open it, didn't turn it on, didn't use an ammeter to check the output just to be sure. I have no problem paying for a trip &/or diagnosis fee but this time around, definitely didn't feel like $75 was appropriate when the appliance wasn't touched. We opted not to fix since part & labor 1/2 cost of a new range.

Tech came out same day I called them for a washing machine repair (and I am outside their designated service area). Rick was very knowledgeable and fixed me right up. He showed me how to resolve the problem myself in case it happens again to avoid paying for another service call. I appreciate that very much.

Two stars only because the person who fixed our washer was very nice and courteous to me and my Mother. Otherwise, no stars. I found the part needed to fix the washer on Amazon, with the same model number, same manufacturer of the washer, for ninety dollars less than charged for the part. I told service that I found the part, and was told they only use parts from the manufacturer. The part was from the manufacturer.
