An Actors Life

Absolute nightmare of a company to work with. Where do I start? I arrived at my property June 15 to see they had dropped off the AC unit in my driveway without anyone there to sign for it. Not sure what I was supposed to do about that. At 4:30 pm a guy named Sergei shows up without my knowledge and informs me he's there to install the unit. I showed him where I wanted it installed and he complained about not being able to run the cooling line into the house. Not knowing better I asked him where he wanted to put it and he pointed to a spot next to my patio door. After drilling a massive hole in my new brick wall he left with the pipes sticking out. No caulking, no cement around the hole, and an AC unit sitting in my backyard. I called my "salesman" and he said, "Yeah. We're getting rid of some guys that are not doing good work. He's one of them." Gee, thanks....
A different technician was scheduled after I insisted the location wouldn't work because it would be sitting directly in front of my water spigot. He showed up about a week later and ran the new cooling lines through my garage. He started at 5 pm and was there until 10 pm. Fine. It wasn't precisely where I wanted the line to go but since my "salesman" wasn't there to guide him I was on my own to make sure it was done properly. The hole they drilled into my brick wall was enormous! Sloppy and gaping. And then they left with no sealer, foam, insulation, nothing. I called the company to ask when they were sending someone out to install the AC unit (still sitting on a crate in a cardboard box in my backyard) and they scheduled yet, get this, a different technician. Then...
This third technician shows up several days later and sets the unit in front of the electrical shutoff box. This was the time where they started demanding final payment. After it was connected the "technician" says, "the unit is working but there's something wrong with your furnace circuit board". I told him it was brand new but he insisted it was faulty so.....
Another week goes by while I wait for a new circuit board because it wasn't in stock. Now it's July 2nd and the house is HOT and HUMID and my doors and floors are beginning to buckle. I decided to open up the furnace panel and look at the circuit board and what did I find? The red wire that is supposed to connect to the circuit board was dangling in front of it. So is the technician not that bright or was it purposely disconnected? I don't know but once I connected the wire to the circuit board the unit fired up and now it works. Amazing.
The unit sat crooked and below the sidewalk in the dirt with no gravel or platform. Devastated at the results I called the company to ask them to please fix it. I brought 2 AC platforms to help the (general manager Rafael) lift it high enough so it wasn't sitting below grade in a pit of mud. He offered to cover the cost of my mason to come out and repair the brick as well as seal off the holes that they squirted spray foam into (don't even ask) and so I honored full payment in return for his commitment to take care of my mason because he "promised" me he would take care of the gaping holes he created in my brick. 3 weeks have passed and he has not responded to any of the 6 text messages I sent him. No surprise here.
Now I have the house inspected. It failed because they installed the AC unit directly in front of the electrical shutoff box which is apparently not following proper code and it needs locking cap valve covers. I called Grand Comfort to ask them to come out and shift it over and they want to charge me $700 because they insist they told me it wasn't being installed to code. What?!?! If they knew they were not installing it to code they WHY are they installing it? Now that make absolutely no sense and they blame me for it. Really?! How is that my fault again? I am still awaiting an answer to my concerns about them not complying with standard code violations.
So do yourself a favor and find a company that know's what they're doing and honors their "Absolute Satisfaction" credo on their website.

They installed a new furnace and air conditioner 3 years ago. I've had both serviced by them every six months since. At first their service was really great. However I tried turning on my A/C and it's not working, so I've tried reaching the company via phone calls and online. No response.

I understand they are busy with the hot weather, and will probably take a few days until they can come out to fix the A/C, but they haven't returned phone calls and I can't even make an appointment. I called another local company and got an appointment for today.

POSTSCRIPT: We just got an reply to our email from Grand Comfort: "Thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately we do not have any technicians available for the next two weeks."
Totally unacceptable response!

Jesse was the installer. Very respectful very smart was able to answer any question that we had. The entire experience we had with the company was the best experience we every had. From giving me a discount for being a veteran and getting me 6 years no interest on my payments and the best is the 10 year bumber to bumper on parts and labor shows me this a company that believes in their products. I would recommend Grand Comfort to anyone and everyone that needs your services. I feel on a scale of 1 to 10 your company rates an 11. I can't tell you how pleased we are. Please keep up the great work we need more companies like Grand Comfort Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning.
Sincerely

They were able to come out pretty quickly when my unit was having issues and Gary, their technician, was great. However, When we found out we had to have the unit replaced, we were approved for financing - but they went ahead and charged the full amount of install before we even had an appointment set up for the new unit. I had to call them to schedule the new unit's install, which was a hassle. The tech, Jesse, then canceled at the end of my window for the install and stated that i would get a discount and he would have the office send confirmation of the discount in an email - this never happened. Jesse and a trainee installed the unit but did not replace the line that went into the house - i was told the full line and everything would be replaced since they did not know where the leak was in the first place - which is why i needed the new unit. They were nice and left and said their supervisor would be by in 20 minutes to inspect their work and have me sign off. Isaac, their supervisor, showed up more than 4 hours later. Refused to actually look at the unit to inspect it, he just kept telling me that he reviewed the photos they sent. Wouldn't say anything about the discount or that it was even promised. He also could not explain why the unit was taking so long to cool the house. It took more than 4 hours for it to cool the house 5 degree and my place isn't that big and i went with a larger unit. I also asked why they charged before installing and he tried telling me this is practiced everywhere - which i know for a fact is not and it shouldn't be charged until the job is actually done. I won't be going back to them again. They have not held up their end of things and i feel that there will be more issues with this new unit since it was not properly inspected by their supervisor and new lines were not fully installed.

I needed help installing my new Nest thermostat because my furnace was wired differently than most (long story). Gary came out and fixed the furnace wiring and all is good! He was helpful, courteous and professional. The charge was reasonable and fair. Nicole in the appointment center was clear and courteous when she reached out to confirm the appointment. I would use them again for my future HVAC needs. Thank you, Grand Comfort!

My central air and furnace needed to be replaced. I solicited bids from several suppliers. From the get go, I had a very positive experience with Grand Comfort Plumbing. It was seamless in scheduling a free estimate, to scheduling an install date and, finally the execution of the installation. Jesse the estimate and install guy was very thorough in his explanation and was very knowledgeable! Jesse did a terrific job in installing the units! Nicole the office contact was very helpful and professional. I am very happy in choosing Grand Comfort. I have no hesitation in referring my friends and family to use Grand Comfort Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning! Five stars!

Grand Comfort was responsive, sending a project estimator out the day I called in the midst of a heat wave. His pricing was excellent, nearly $1000 less than my current HVAC company. They installed the system within 5 days, two of which were over a weekend. The technicians arrived when promised, were very knowlegeable, communicated well, and finished the project within half a day. They removed the old system, installed the new system, tested and retested what they installed and left both the inside and outside work areas immaculate. Nice job!

I hired this company because I had used them at my old house. We hired them to install 2 new furnaces and 2 new AC units. after 2 months, our thermostat wasn't working and the one of the AC units was short cycling. I tried calling, emailing, and texting the guy who was the sales rep (Rafael Zeitunian). No response. Then I had another guy come from a different company come check on things. He pointed out that everything was installed incorrectly and that American Standard wouldn't even allow this company to install their products if they knew how bad of a job they did. $1500 later, I'm hoping I didn't get completely scammed, but it seems likely. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

This company failed at almost every step. We selected them because of good ratings, especially as an American Standard dealer. In retrospect, I believe poor reviews may have been filtered since so many thing went wrong with our purchase and install.

1. Quoted a furnace/ ac replacement where the installation in a hallway closet made quiet operation number 1. Replaced a 20 year old unit with a new 80% unit which was marketed as a super quiet cabinet enclosure.

2. Installation delayed

3. Installation tech put the unit incorrectly so airflow was backwards. Tech claimed he had to install it that way because his office did not supply the down flow adapter. So rather than get the venting adapter as required, they installed it as up flow. Unbelievable.
The tech returned at 7am Mother's Day to remove the unit, flip it correctly and reinstall with the adapter.

4. Exhaust vent completely blocked the ability to change the filter. Had to point this out to the tech who then corrected the problem. He would not have done so without me interceding.

5. Noise level during heating is nearly 80db. That is super loud and completely disregarded our #1 request...a quiet unit.

6. When cooling season arrived 4 weeks later, the unit kept shutting down. Turns out the tech did not hook it up to the Nest thermostat correctly. Different tech returned and corrected the problem.

Short story is we decided to chose this company because of their certification with American Standard vs going with an smaller independent contractor. Boy were we wrong.

We reached out to the company and owner. Each time they fixed what they screwed up except our number one request, quiet.
Ironically they have been quiet on that issue.
Even with all our preparation and research we got boned through the whole process.

I saw fantastic review about TempCare on Yelp and reached out through Yelp to contact them about getting the estimate. They contacted me within minutes and were able to fit me into their schedule within 24 hours.

I needed to repair a gas line for a natural gas grill. They came, provided an estimate and were able to put me on the schedule for the same day. The actual repair took less than ten minutes. All professionals that visited my home were courteous, professional, and respectful. They will be my first call in the future if I ever have any heating or air conditioning needs.
