At Temp Mechanical

Smelled a acrid burning odor though the house and then the circuit breaker popped for the furnace. When I reset it it instantly popped off again. Not good. I took a look at the furnace, a 18 year plus old Armstrong, pulled out the blower assembly just out of curiosity.

I could smell the motor was a little smoky and could smell that familiar smell. I flirted with maybe trying to change it out as there are so many YouTube Videos making it seem easy. However when I looked for getting the motor on my own it was days or weeks away and close to $400.

I called a large HVAC company that quoted $850 total for a motor. And they could come in a day. I said go ahead. Not happy but did not want to gamble in the winter with a terrible shortage of parts.

they called me back 10 minutes later to say they would need and extra $50 if I wanted the work done in less then a week!! This is a company I have used and they have 50 plus service trucks! Not a small shop.

So $900 for an installed electric motor!

I felt I was being taken advantage of. So I looked up an authorized Armstrong service contractors.
I call AT Temp and so glad I did. Louie the proud owner actually picked up between jobs. Had me text him the model number and he verified inventory. Said he could do it that day by the end of the day. There was on two motors left so he picked it up earlier in the day! Game by at 4:00 on time and installed and checked it out for $625 total all in! Brand new out of the box and as promised. So glad I found him. He is the owner and actually the one doing the work. Very impressed with professionalism.

I will recommend and use for us and others. I love to support small businesses when I can. Looking at the wiring I think "What was I thinking I would do it :-)"

Louie and At Temp Mechanical did an excellent and very professional job, when we needed 2 complete air conditioner and furnaces systems replaced in our commercial building. Louie took the time on a Sunday to meet me at our business and walk me through what all we needed to have done. Provided us with a very reasonable quote and had everything installed by the end of the week. The employees were all very professional and cleaned up after their work on each day. I would highly recommend Louie and At Temp Mechanical any day!

1/17/20 Follow Up
I still believe my 5 star review for the installation is correct but since the installation the follow up has been non-existent. During installation in August I had spoken with Louie, the owner, about preventative maintenance on another unit here at our business and another at our home. He told me he could do it the following week. He also mentioned he would put together a final invoice for our installation with all of the serial numbers on it for our reference. Three times now I have asked again and been told it would get taken care of but to this date nothing. 8/29/19 asked about it and got response "I will do and send over invoice" 10/05/19 when asked again about the invoice and the service along with a high pitched noise was told again "would send quote and stop over. The most recent time I asked on 1/05/20 about getting the invoice, as I needed it for my accountant and taxes" I was told "surething: Here we are almost 2 weeks later and no response. Great installation but horrible follow up.

My heater went out on over the weekend and Louie saved the day. He gave advice over the phone without hesitation to see if we could come up with a fix. He ended up coming the same day and troubleshooted the furnace before even thinking about recommending a replacement. He tried many different techniques until we had a safe resolution to get some heat. Not only did he fix my old furnace, but he checked in the next day to see if everything was ok. Highly recommended.

Louie provided an attractive rate for our furnace and air conditioning coil which both needed to be replaced. He then looked through our house and noted that we didn't have enough returns to have a comfortable environment, which no other company did. He added a return to our basement and it was a complete game changer for how heat is distributed in our home. We no longer have rooms that are freezing while others are blazing hot.

Additionally, we have an infant and Louie ensured that everything in her room was secure including a vent above her crib and also stopped by after we had our floors redone and changed the filer. Unbelievable service and installation as well as a man proud of his work!

Fast honest quality work!!! Louie recently came out to diagnose our new Ac unit In Arlington Heights that was not working and found the problem right away! He was able to work with the manufacturers warrantee and fill out all the necessary paperwork to save us a lot of money !!! Very polite and great with our dog too!!!! Thanks again for keeping us cool this summer!
