We have had multiple horrible experiences with this company. They installed a new air conditioning unit a couple years ago, during which they gave us a full written 10 year warranty covering parts and labor. The air conditioning unit was registered with the manufacturer guaranteeing the warranty. The first time the AC broke last year ($13 Capacitor breakage), we called the company with the technician showing up the next day. He refused to honor the warranty and abruptly jumped into his van and left. A week ago the AC broke again, this time the blower motor (a part that is under full factory warranty). So we called them again and they showed up the next day, looked at the warranty, and took the old motor with them. They told me they would order a new motor and it would be installed the next day. However it took them several days to get the part. Without any notice the owners son left the broken motor on my doorstep a couple days later. They held me hostage for a week with a completely broken unit, forcing me to pay someone else to fix it. When I called the office they told me they cannot honor the warranty using the excuse that they made a clerical error on their papers. The whole decision to choose this air conditioning company was based on their promise to provide a 10 year full warranty which they are now going back on. They will say and do anything to make a sale but after they have your money they will very quickly go back on their word. The entire staff was extremely rude and unprofessional. I have even called the police on this company who told me they have bad business practices.
DO NOT ABSOLUTELY DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I bought my air unit from Sawgrass Air Conditioning and have come to find out that I was completely lied to about my warranty for my air conditioner. The sales person told me I had a 10 year extended warranty and today I was told my warranty was expired due to it being only a 5 year warranty. The technician told me today that the parts would cost me $1150.00 and the labor would cost me $550.00 and it could not be fixed until Monday. They gave me push back on the labor contract I originally purchased from them. After realizing this company cannot be trusted I called another company. The other company I called charged me a total of $613.00. I was grateful that I found the other company. Unfortunately Sawgrass Air Conditioning cost me $613.00 because the parts and labor should have been covered by them. Sawgrass Air Conditioning not only would not cover what they orginally said they would they wanted to charge me $1700.00 and could not repair my air conditioner until Monday and today is Friday. I only gave Sawgrass Air Conditioning 1 star in order to do this review. They deserve no stars for being a deceptive company. DO NOT ABSOLUTELY DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
Purchased two brand new 2.5 ton units and would never work with this company again. The installation was very sloppy. PVC pipes were not connected causing our units to flood multiple times after having repairs completed by sawgrass. These specific units were also known to have motors that go bad which is over $750 to replace... which I've had to do twice for each unit under 5 years of ownership. To top it off these motors are not part of the manufacturer warranty. Seems like the products and services sold here are very low quality with even worse support.
The technicians did an excellent job installing my unit. They kept their work area under control and left it clean. The workmanship of the installation was great, with attention to detail and quality very high. I was impressed with their focus on the installation and how the job was completed much sooner than I would have imagined. They answered questions I had and their installation process. I have been very happy with the end result. They are reliable and effective and I would highly recommend them!
Worst company I have every worked with. Very unprofessional, very poor service. Initially I was quoted the price of a new unit by their salesman, Glenn Ripoll, since my A/C failed during the month of September in South Florida. He stated that it would take 2-3 days to prep the unit and install. I called him back the next day, and gave him the go-ahead. I kept calling throughout the week, but he wouldn't answer. It took two weeks of me constantly calling both the company as well as the Glenn, till they finally came out. The appointment was scheduled for a Friday morning at 9AM. They never showed. At 10:00 AM the secretary called me and told me that my appointment had been "changed" to 1 PM. They never showed. At 2 PM after several phone calls, I told her that if no one had showed in 30 minutes, to forget about it. She said they were on their way. They finally came at 4 PM, two Cuban contractors from Miami who spoke absolutely NO English at all. They didn't even work for Sawgrass Air Conditioning, they were contractors. No courtesy, no apologies, no professionalism. They ripped off the shelving in my closet to gain access to do the install, and left the place a mess.
I wanted to take a minute to express my appreciation both for Gloria and Andres. I've been in my house for almost 4 years and this is the first time I didn't feel like I was being ripped off. Your service techs have been trying to sell me a coil cleaning since I moved in, but the coil had been spotless until recently, as I've had a water leak and had to tear out my kitchen. As soon as my renovation is complete I will call for a cleaning at that time. Thank you to both Gloria & Andres. Prior to this experience I was not going to renew my Service contract. LK
I had them install a brand new Rheem inside and outside unit in 2009. I was sold on a 10 year warranty. In 2016, the inside blower gave out. I had Sawgrass tech JJ come out, he told me the unit was not registered with Rheem, therefore the warranty expired after 5 years. I brought out all of my paperwork for JJ to go through, as I am quite organized and have kept every single document they gave me. JJ confirmed all papers stated 10 year warranty for parts. I argued with the manager, Robert, to no avail. I was told it was my responsibility to register my product with Rheem, and that since I did not there was nothing he could do. I pleaded that I was never told I needed to do anything to "activate" the 10 year warranty, Robert washed his hands clean of the situation and turned his phone off. I spoke to the front desk lady asking to speak to the owner, I wrote an email, I wrote a facebook message/post. I never received a return phone call from anyone from Sawgrass. I called in a new company, AM/PM, and explained the situation. The tech came over, diagnosed the problem, and had it fixed that day. I did have to pay for the full cost of the repair up front, but he got a copy of my original paperwork, called Rheem and explained the situation, and was able to get Rheem to honor the original 10 year warranty. I was soon refunded the cost for the parts. I was also informed that it is standard practice within the industry for the contractor who installs the unit to handle registration. This came from the company who serviced my AC, as well as from Rheem. Sawgrass air made zero attempt to rectify the situation, made not even the slightest hint that they could have possibly messed up, and had terrible customer service. They made no attempt to get Rheem to honor the agreed upon warranty, turns out they could have convinced them to do so. I would recommend staying away from this company if you are reading this. Find someone else, I recommend AM/PM. I would be quite willing to further discuss this situation with anyone who wants more information, including Sawgrass Air themselves.
I've dealt with this company for the last 10 years now. Unfortunately I bought two AC units from them. My second AC unit was supposed to be under warranty. I was told by them I was supposed to register the unit for the warranty. When you spend $4,000 on a major appliance like that you would think the company installing it would register the appliance automatically. Sawgrass never told me to register the unit. And of course $1,300 later I'm replacing almost every part of the AC unit. My AC unit is only 6 years old. Neither Sawgrass or Rheem want anything to do with replacing it other than more money. I have a receipt that Sawgrass gave me and it's clearly states 10 warranty on parts. Stay away from this company and do not buy a Rheem AC unit.
Bought two 5 ton Trane A/C systems 7 years ago. One for my Dad's house and the other for my own home. My system broke 6 times and ended up replacing the blower, coils, valves. etc. Yesterday it broke again and they wanted to charge me $575 to find a leak. My Dad, who is 80 years old, had similar problems. I was furious to find out that the last time they went to service his system they conned him with a finance option and replaced it for a new one (at full price). Spoke to the owner (Robert) who blamed it on the manufacturer and refused to take responsibility.
This company was a scam... They didn't even bother to register the unit they installed.. now they're bankrupt, and I can't get the shoddy work repaired.
Don’t believe a WORD of their response. Their work is something that CANNOT be repaired. It will forever be a problem in this house unless we move the entire unit, slab, ductwork. They closed and went bankrupt, and now they’re reopened under the same name to scam more people.
