Donny’s Heating and Air doesn’t even deserve a 1-star review for their work. Two of their technicians came out to my house and diagnosed a problem I had with my air conditioner. It is an older unit, but they assured me that they could fix the problem and get the unit cooling properly again. I was quoted $350 for the repair, and after replacing the part, the technicians informed me that the unit was low on Freon and needed 3 pounds. They charged me $195 on top of the original $350 quote to add 3 pounds of R428A Freon on top of an R22 system. After they left the unit still wasn’t cooling properly, and when they sent the same technician out, who was there less than 5 minutes, he told me that the unit was running fine and it must be leaky duct work or inadequate insulation in the attic. Since then, I have had 3 other licensed HVAC technicians diagnose the unit and have all agreed R428A Freon shouldn’t be mixed with R22 Freon. I’ve called Donnie’s Heating and Air several times and get nowhere with them. They of course tell me it can be mixed and I have been misinformed and that they repaired the unit properly. Now I’m out $545 on a repair bill that accomplished absolutely nothing and have now spent another $6000 on a new unit because the old one was beyond repair after Donny’s supposedly repaired it. To this day Donny’s hasn’t returned any of my phone calls and has made it clear that they don’t care about making things right with their customers.
I asked them to come and diagnosis my heater not working. There was a minimum charge for the diag. (98.00) to tell me what was wrong with the heater. OK... They told me the blower motor was burnt out ( they also did not know what motor was there). The repair person did not check the motor. They replaced a transformer and then left. The next day I had to get another company to come out and fix it. The transformer Donnies put in was burnt out immediately, so that 100.00 for a blown transformer. The blower motor was fine and has worked fine since. The whole problem was a short they did not find. I called the manager and he refused to let me speak to the owner. I was charged for the wrong diagnosis, a part they burnt out by not check the ground. they did not fix the problem or tell me the correct diag. So I will file a complaint with the dept of agriculture for consumer affairs.
We thought that having a maintenance contract with this company, we would get extra attention when there is a problem with our AC unit. That was not the case. Our AC broke down in this summer and I waited all day for them to show up as they refused to give an estimate of when the repair guy can come. He finally showed up after 5 pm, put some freon that was supposedly the cause of the problem. The problem was not fixed at all. I made several times to make sure they follow up on it but they were non-committal as to when they can send the repair person back. They never showed up and never called to let me know they could not make it! The customer service at this place is so dismal. I would never ever use them or recommend them to anyone.
If you are looking for someone who stands behind their work and quality customer service, look elsewhere. I don't think I have ever encountered a more poorly run operation. I paid over 5,000 dollars for an AC unit that does not work properly and they have blatantly refused to fix it even though it's still under warranty. It's unbelievable that, in this day and age, a company with such poor leadership can thrive. I would not treat anyone the way they have treated me and my family. No class whatsoever.
We came home from vacation to a broken A/C. I called Donny's at 8:30am on a Sunday morning, and thanks to Sam, by 11:30am, it was up and running. Absolutely great service. Highly recommend.
Absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. Installed a new ac unit that has never functioned properly and they refuse to fix it. The last time they were here, they broke the drain line on the drip pan in the attic and caused extensive water damage. They have refused to take responsibility for that as well and have said that they will not repair the damage. I don't know how a company that operates like this stays in business.
We love Donny's heating and air. Of course we always have problems on a weekend. They are always fast, fair and efficient! Will never call anyone else.
