Prompt service at a rip-off price! Our AC in the office stopped cooling so we gave these guys a call. The technician arrived same day and was very polite and knowledgeable. He went up on the roof and discovered a blown fuse, total repair time--less than 30 minutes, total charge--$440.00. If you would like to be promptly ripped off give these guys a call...

I am very happy to write this positive review about my experience with Protocool. A week before my family returned from vacation, our house sitter informed us that our home AC unit stopped working. Upon returning, an A/C technician we know determined that the outside unit motor fan had failed. My wife and I searched locally and online to find a reasonable price for the part and after a week of waiting for the FedEx delivery, ultimately realized we were ripped off by an online A/C wholesale parts seller. After disputing the credit card charge, we called Protocool on a Friday afternoon at 4:15pm. I spoke with Chris, who knew to ask about the original purchase documents, which I quickly forwarded to him. He determined that the part was still under warranty and said he would have his office work at finding the part in Miami-Dade County, where we live. Within 15 minutes, not only had they found the part, they also cared for all the necessary documentation, set up an after hour pick up of the part at a Lennox warehouse, and scheduled an emergency service call for a technician to replace the warranty item the next morning, on a Saturday. Justin, the technician arrived on time and was very courteous and knowledgeable. He explained what he was going to do, which was to check the unit and capacitor, remove and replace the fan motor assembly, and evaluate the working unit afterward. He was there just under two hours when our A/C was fixed. The repair was reasonable, and I was happy to pay it! I am extremely impressed at how quickly and professional everyone at Protocool was in caring for our problem. They went out of their way to help us, even late Friday afternoon before quitting time. I am grateful that they scheduled a technician to fix the problem on Saturday, a day normally reserved for emergencies only. I highly recommend this company and will not hesitate to use them again if needed. Thank you Chris, Monica, Justin and the other office staff that helped us!!!

Excellent service and follow-up. The owner, Chris, explains exactly what Protocool includes in all of its installations. He is very thorough, so you'll know exactly what you'll be getting. The technicians did a great job installing the unit.

They show up on time that I must admit but who wouldn’t when they know that they’re going to rip you off. I agreed to the price knowing that I was being ripped off. I called roughly around 4pm they did come out and charged after hour prices. I paid 135.00 for the service fee which it was not fixed that night because I needed a fan motor and we couldn’t get one until the next day. The next day the fan motor was installed for a fee of 480.00 the part was covered under warranty so the full price of 615.00 was all labor. A year later and my butt is still sore. I’ve been reading the reviews and I see where the staff is responding that everyone was aware of the prices before the work was done, it’s still doesn’t make it right to take advantage of people. Way Way over charge. NEVER AGAIN!

I don’t normally provide reviews but this one is totally warranted. Chris, the owner, is rude and unprofessional and does not have your best interest in mind. My parents bought a new AC unit from this company approximately three years ago and this is the third time a member of their team has come to the house to “fix” the AC unit. The first time, they brought in the wrong size AC unit, and the two other times were defects that the previous service men did not resolve. This is the fourth time they have come to my parents home. Totally unacceptable, right? In a futile attempt to resolve the issue with the owner, I was met with rudeness, raised voice and condescending tone. When I asked to speak to the other co-owner, I was told “no” then told that he would only speak with the homeowner. I only picked up the phone because my parents weren’t getting anywhere with their poor service. With that said, DO NOT patronize this business unless you want poor customer service, workmanship, and feel the need to be disrespected.

(added 29Oct21) I’ll continue to say it: I wouldn’t trust my HVAC needs to anyone else.

We've used ProtoCool to service, maintain, and now replace our HVAC systems for over 15 yrs. Their technicians are knowledgeable, efficient and the company staff is willing to discuss all the options in a manner that makes sense to unit-operations and my wallet. They have never missed an appointment time-window, and the communication from the office is coordinated and spot-on.
Our replacement scenario is not easy (requires a crane, shutting down a city street, maneuvering around other units on our condo-roof) -- they handled everything start-to-finish, and minimized the out-of-A/C time to practically nothing.

Protocool and Chris did a terrific job on my recent a/c installation. Chris goes through the installation process in detail and made sure you had no questions before he leaves your residence. Conveniently Protocool offers financing on their a/c units but I did not chose to utilize that option, but it is great for those who chose to utilize it. The installation was flawless and afterward they cleaned up and leave your house as found. This company pays attention to what they promise you and doesn’t deviate or shortcut the process. Everyone should have such a pleasant setup and installation experience.

I would highly recommend Protocool Cooling Solutions. I called them when I noticed my AC system was acting up. John arrived right on time the next day. He was very professional, and knowledgeable about my Trane dual compressor system. He was able to diagnose and fix the problem very quickly. (One of my compressors wasn't working, so he was able to have the system utilize the good compressor full time.)
I've tried other lower cost AC contractors, and they are nowhere near the level of competence that John exhibited. It definitely pays to go with a reputable company like Protocool to keep your AC system in peak running condition. I'll also use them when it's time to replace my system.

We had a very positive experience with the purchase of our Gree Mini-split air-conditioning unit. Chris initially visited our home to see what unit might work best for us. Afterwards he was understanding and considerate when addressing some follow-up inquiries. The installation technicians Ricky and Scottie were efficient and cordial. Laurie is very pleasant when I call the office. Our unit is working beautifully and we are very pleased.
