Kron & West Air Conditioning

After a very enjoyable long weekend away on vacation, my family came home to a broken AC and a very hot house. My husband called Kron & West and were pleasantly surprised that they would dispatch a technician within the hour -- on a Saturday! Brian Bartlett, the service mechanic, arrived within 30 minutes and was courteous and professional. After some tinkering, Brian was able to get our system back up and running. Our hats off to Brian and Kron & West for the A+ service!

The service mechanic that provided our 6 month service was Brad. He was very proficient and professional. He was conscientious and careful with everything he came in contact with around our home. He was also very pleasant and a delight to be around. Anyone who uses the Kron & West Air Conditioning company will be more than pleased. They also installed our new system 2 years ago and it is so efficient our electric bills decreased so much and we stay nice and cool.

After many hours on the phone with Nest tech support and one replacement, I reached out to Kron & West Air Conditioning to help with my failed install. Within minutes, I was speaking to Brian and he was able to walk me through the installation and some wiring issues. Literally, 5 minutes later my household was back in action. Many thanks Brian! We have used Kron & West several times and recevied outstanding service every time.

The day of the install three very professional and highly trained persons arrived at our door exactly on time. The service personnel were courteous and very polite. They protected my home and yard. Mitch, the lead person on the job, made sure that I was totally satisfied with every step of the project. Johnny and Justino were also courteous and focused on doing a professional job. Mitch made sure that everything was completely to my satisfaction before leaving the premises.

Kron & West replaced our old air conditioning system. It is easy to be good when everything goes flawlessly. Things happen. At times you see the real shine on a company when you face some sort of adversity. Without going into a bunch of boring detail, let me say without hesitation that you can depend on this company. They showed deep concern and REALLY came through. They are available 24-7. They are the consummate professionals. When you are shopping for a high ticket item, you want to spend your money wisely. Feel comfortable and confident with Kron & West. I gave them 5 stars because I can't give them 10.

9-1-22 Came out and fixed an issue. This company is beyond reputable! Don't call anyone else! In this day and age where customer service is scarce, Kron & West is an absolute STANDOUT! Again.....5 stars because I can't give them 10! I HIGHLY recommend that you purchase their maintenance plan.

I was told I needed new heating and air conditioning units installed in my condo. I live in Chicago and was uncertain as to who to trust. I decided to get 3 bids, A friend referred me to Kron & West and they promptly came out and gave me a quote. The bids ranged from $4800 to $13,500. I decided to go with Kron & West because they had done other installations in our condominium complex. They were absolutely awesome to deal with. They did the installation within 2 days - arriving on time - completing the job promptly and cleaning up after themselves. I recommend them to everyone!

BE AWARE: SURPRISED DIAGNOSTIC FEE UNRELATED TO REPAIR. Kron air conditioning has had a quality reputation and I'm surprised at how my experience went. My air handler stopped functioning and I called the company first thing on a Friday morning. Devin scheduled it for later that afternoon which seemed wonderful.
Luis the technician showed up and quickly diagnosed the glitch; a failed fan motor/module and it had to be replaced. He didn't have the motor on the truck and said it was $89 for the service and $118 to diagnose the problem. And $1200 for the motor & labor to be installed another day! NO ONE EVER INFORMED ME THAT I MIGHT GET A DIAGNOSIS WITHOUT A FIX AND WOULD HAVE TO PAY ADDITIONALLY FOR THE DIAGNOSIS WITHOUT REPAIR! My experience is that when a diagnosis does not immediately lead to service, the cost for the diagnosis can be discounted with the final repair. Luis told me that this not the case: with Kron service calls, the SERVICE is SEPARATE from the repair?!?!? I was NOT satisfied with the situation, but there was no other option for me.; Luis explained that it wasn't his 'fault,' but that is how the company does their service visits. I generously tipped Luis for his time and he said I would hear from the company on Monday re: setting up the appt for the new motor!
Monday came and no call. Tuesday I had Gulfcoast AC visit, and fortuitously they had the motor on the truck and the repair was $800. Even Gabriel, from Gulfcoast said that reputable companies don't routinely charge a separate diagnostic fee for a repair call. A week would pass from Luis' visit before I heard back from Kron; Friday and the following Monday Devin called as they were now ready to set up an appt for the motor replacement. I let Devin know that I already had it repaired and I was considering writing an unfavorable review. Devin said I would hear from (Brian?) later that day to discuss my dissatisfaction--I never heard back.

SO: BE AWARE. Kron seems to think it is acceptable business practice to schedule a repair, but then not complete the repair and seems to expect you to pay for a SERVICE CALL, DIAGNOSIS & then an additional REPAIR fee, all without informing the customer in advance (or at least that is what I believe happened to me). Perhaps this is only a situation if the part isn't immediately available or maybe they have some other explanation. Regardless, be aware that your Charges might seem inordinately high and perhaps unfair. While the 1 star might seem harsh for Luis' responsible visit, the $118 diagnosis fee (and not informing me that there is a fee unrelated to my repair or the home visit--but that I'll be responsible to pay SEPARATE from the repair) seems like prudent reciprocity to me.

We have three contracts with Kron & West at various properties. They are always professional in notifying us for maintenance. Then follow up contacting us before they arrive, on time! Work is done and communicated clearly what was done along with comments on concerns or other feedback to make sure the systems continue to function normally. We usually have a Mechanic (Cyrus) whom we've come to know and appreciate his knowledge and helpfulness. Highly recommend him! Represents the company well.

My central air conditioner/heat recently stopped working. I called a company to see what was wrong. They could repair it for about $1700 but no guarantee how long it would stay working. They gave me a quote for a new system which was over $1000 more than Kron & West. Kron & West were able to install a new system a few days later. The installers Mitch & CJ were right on time at 7:45 AM to get the work started. They didn't take a break until the job was completed at 4 PM. They were polite and really cleaned up both inside and out. Bob the "Comfort Consultant" was not pushy and very helpful. Polite and knowledgeable he didn't sell me things I didn't need. All in all, I highly recommend Kron & West and their entire staff for an easy process. Thank you.
