***UPDATE***
In response to the update from the owner, no, Tony C. The original sales guy did not in fact go up into the attic to analyze the ductwork, but Mark Underwood did.
This just goes to show you that it really just depends on who the company sends out on the initial visit. REVIEW HAS BEEN ALTERED FROM ONE STAR TO FIVE STARS. After leaving my initial one star review, I spoke with one of the owners and informed them of why my review was so low, and why I was disappointed with the original sales guy they sent out. However, it has now been a year, and again, I got multiple estimates from multiple companies. After I enlisted some help from my dad, we eventually decided to get another estimate from DelAir and this time they sent out Mark Underwood. I can't even describe the difference between him and Tony. He worked to get us a very good price (still expensive, but as we found out.. worth it). Not only was Mark's personable and down to earth demeanor a breath of fresh air, but after we accepted the quote and committed to the job...they sent out their installation crew. And to those guys... we are deeply deeply grateful for the care, effort and commitment that they provided us with this job. Jon L. and Brian were absolutely stellar. I am so thrilled that they sent THEM in particular to install the new ductwork. They were patient, both with me and my boyfriend, and genuine. They were sweet with our dogs, and always addressed any concerns that came up about the job. They cared about how the finished work looked, and were by FAR the cleanest crew that we have ever had in our house! Plus, it's always nice when you start to blast Bowie and Queen and the guys start to whistle and enjoy the addition of my music. I can't even begin to say enough kind things about the crew they sent out. I would argue it was most likely their best crew, and everything....even their attention to detail did not go unnoticed. Brian made our platform for the handler in the garage and it looks fantastic. We bonded over our love for animals and we would have those guys over anytime to do work on our house. It was such a relief realizing that I genuinely had nothing to worry about because they genuinely cared about how the finished product looked, and obviously wanted everything to be done to perfection...even in our tiny little house. Sometimes, I think the sales guys tend to be the most celebrated part of the company...but in all honesty, it should be the installation Crew. We are beyond thrilled with the finished product. It takes a lot for me to change a rating from one star to 5 so quickly. This is all due to the guys who spent a full week crawling around the "attic" on their bellies, custom designing all of the vent connections and replacing our entire duct system. So this is a special shout out to Jon and Brian. Thank you for making a not fun situation actually enjoyable. If you happen to get these guys to do the install... you now know that you're definitely in good hands.
***INITIAL REVIEW BELOW***
I'm more than a little disappointed with Del-Air...they had an opportunity to get a new customer, and botched it royally. Let me first say that yes, Irvine Mechanical is owned by some of my uncles. Both my father and brother worked at Trane, which my grandfather brought down here, so I basically grew up around A/C lingo and know more than the average person. We called to get a quote on either replacing or repairing the ductwork. They sent a pretty young guy, Tony Cardoza, who didnt even LOOK at our actual ductwork. He just walked through the house, counting the vents, adding returns, adding this, adding that, until the bill was over $7000 NOT including the hauling away of our old ductwork, or labor. No customer service skills, he was in the house about 5 minutes, and thank GOODNESS I had signed up for 3 other quotes because he was basically taking a shot in the dark hoping I was desperate enough to fall for it. Either that or they just don't want more business. I honestly can't tell the difference. We will never call them back.

Excellent service maintenance. Took care of each and everything in a professional way. I would definitely recommend Del-air

Noah was great—able to speak in layman’s terms about what was happening with the system, what to look for post-visit, and provided feedback about optimizing set-up. Really appreciated his demeanor and ability to solve the issue quickly!

Del Air has always been an extremely professional company to work with! Noah B. is the best!! I’m always confident when he’s here that he’ll figure out the problem! Thank you Noah!! Karen Green 👍🏻

Here's a tale of 2 stories - Big Corp Del Air vs local next door neighbor HVAC small business. My neighbor did in 6 days what Del Air could not do in EIGHT WEEKS! Not only did Del Air make me wait for 8 weeks, not once did they call to give me an update. I called repeatedly just to be told the same thing over and over that I just had to wait. They said it was a "supply chain issue". Well... my licensed neighbor was able to get me a new part from Trane and finish the job in less than a week! Moral of the story - Shop local. Boycott big corp.....

Easy to make an appt. Good communication for appointment arrival time. Arrived on time. Technician was very nice and efficient. I thought price for repair to be very high (especially labor) they don't break the prices down for parts and labor on receipt but prices at home depot for parts are less than $50 and I was charge $450. Repair only took approx. 1 hour.
Same repair thru another plumbing Company would have been half the price but they were booked out over a week and I needed the repair done right away.

Experience was good but with the service call should it include cleaning, draining and temp check besides the repair? Also they recommend a new unit but have not recieved quotes as they recommend.

They are the worst company to deal with. we had month's of issues with our ACc unit that was due to their faulty repairs. After 10 different service men they finally got it working. 6 months later when the AC went out again, they were scheduled to come out on a Saturday. They ultimately neve showed up and never called. They have no consideration or custom service at all. I would not recommend them to anyone

I had a tech come from del air, he diagnosed that our ac is blowing hot air because thermostat is not working correctly and that it just needed to be replaced. I have spare thermostat here two of them, from my previous rental. Replaced the thermostats, which turned on, but still blowing hot air. This is a misdiagnosis and they want to charge another fee to rediagnose the problem
