The response time was phenomenal!! However, the price range was outrageously high to replace the capacitor. The part is $20 but I was charged $225 for it and the service call price. Crazy.

My A/C was old and on its last leg, i have 2 young children, and cannot be without A/C. It wasn't even 24hrs after i called Louis that i had a new A/C system installed. My house didn't even have time to lose the cool air from the old A/C!!!! Austin was my installer and he was on time (early actually) courteous, and cleaned up as if he was never there. I have recommended Service Star to anyone i hear having AC problems.. even strangers in Lowes, and will continue to do so!

AC died on holiday weekend of course. Call service star and received a call back with in 10 min or less. Louis was extremely helpful on the phone he came by to try and get the unit running that night-it was dead. He was so nice and professional. Had a new unit and great installer-Keith on the 4th of July at 8:30am. Had a new thermostat which was a little difficult to program Louis talked me thru the process over the phone. I highly recommend service star.

We bought a home in Deltona in 2016 and because it was an older unit decided to have a new unit installed. Had this company come an replace with a Lenox. Today the unit was blowing hot air. I called this company and was told they don’t service this area anymore due to COVID. I had to call another company who charged me 99 to just come look at it only to find out a part that’s covered under warranty needs to be replaced. Because they did not install the unit we have to pay 289 to have it fixed. Hey Service Star Florida is open. Unless your company is shut down you should continue to service all units you installed.

My husband and I needed to replace our entire AC unit inside and out. We shopped around but when we called Service star this was the best decision we ever made. There team came out and evaluated what our home needed and did not sell us anything we did not need. They helped us find all the tax and rebates out there to apply to our new AC unit. There team that installed the unit in our home were very professional and knowledgeable. They helped us re-route some air vents to make the air flow where it needed to be in our home. There office staff is very friendly and when I need to schedule a tune-up it's always a breeze. Thanks Service start for everything you do.

Buyers beware. I purchased a new Rheeem unit from Service Star and Heat in May of 2019. It is now October, only 1.5 yrs into my purchase and the fan motor has gone out. When I called in for “Warranty” service I was quoted $475.00 to have unit repaired. According to the manager Luis, this is the standard fee for repair. The fee is not based on time at site and apparently includes transit time for technician to pick up part which is about an hour away. My system was diagnosed and quoted without a service technician ever examining my unit. When I asked if I should expect this problem to occur again Luis stated that I should invest in surge protection as the units are very delicate and prone to these types of issues. I have filed a formal complaint with the finance company stating that Service Star and Heat seem to be selling defective products. Please do your research before you purchase any product or services from this company. Also please visit Better Business Bureau website to see unresolved and open complaints against this company.

Our air conditioner wasn’t running at normal capacity. Called Service Star locally for assistance and got an appointment the next day. (Noon to 3pm window). Lou Ratti arrived about 12:30. Checked vents for temp
of incoming air and found living room area was warmer than bedrooms, checked outside unit and numbers not favorable. Opened air handler cover found coils all rusted and determined leaking. Made decision for Rheem replacement. Service tech completed install that evening. Pepe,
the install tech was wonderful answering all questions and returned next day to ensure everything was ok. The best !

Last year Service Star installed a new Rheem high-efficiency air conditioning system in our home at a cost of more than $10,000. The installers seemed less than knowledgeable based on a number of comments they made while trying to install the system. Concerns about their competence proved true when the AC installation FAILED the city inspection and they had to come back and change several things that were done incorrectly. Recently the entire system shut down and it was two days of sweltering heat before they sent out a technician to check on the system. Over the following week, there were no less than 4 different technicians (some of whom don’t even work for Service Star) making six different service calls and each one had a different story about what was wrong with the system. Several indicated that the previous technician didn’t make the proper repairs. After each visit, they indicated that the system was now repaired but each time the system shut down within a few hours. The last straw was when they came out for the sixth service call with yet another reason for the problems being the need for a new condensate pump and they wanted to charge us $300 for it despite the system still being under warranty (not to mention all the headaches and problems). I said forget it and we called another service firm to repair the system without a new condensate pump. I have owned homes for over 40 years and have dealt with dozens of HVAC service companies and this was by far the worst experience I have ever had.

The technician came out after hours on a Sunday night and was able to determine that my issue was not caused by the air conditioner. He spent a good amount of time running various diagnostics and determined my issue was caused by the main power coming in to the house. He gave me advice and chose not to charge me the service fee due the fact that we would still be without air conditioning and I would need to contact the power company. "Great service!" "Highly recommended!"

We had contacted service star to conduct a annual maintenace on our hvac system. Joe was assigned to come out and assess everything. Upon inspection our system needed to be replaced. Joe throughly explained what was wrong and recommended replacement options including full pricing and financing options. Joe was able to get Brad and team (I forgot the other installers name, but he was great!) to come out same day and replace our system. We also had James come to clean and sanitize all our ducting as well. Everyone we had contact with was phenomenal. Joe is even assiting with our paperwork to submit to our home warranty for reimbursement. I would highly recommend service star for any of your HVAC needs.
