    I called Service Star at 9::00 in the evening that I had a problem . The technician called me right back and was at my house the next morning at 9:00 am. Christopher was professional, personal and explained and showed me everything that needed to be done!
    I am now a repeating customer for Christopher!

    Chris was the technician who serviced our unit. He was efficient, kind and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain to us what he was doing (being we are transplanted New Yorkers) and what we needed to do to best maintain our unit. He answered our myriad of questions, and even changed our filter.
    Best of all he fixed our issue quickly.
    I hope you realize what a gem of an employee you have in Chris. These
    days when shoddy customer service is the norm, when you encounter someone like Chris, you thank your lucky stars.

    Where do I start? Cathy Harris, the owner, was a life saver for my parents today! I reached out to her directly and she IMMEDIATELY offered to help me. My parents purchased an AC from Service Star a few years back and last night it stopped cooling and they were dealing with some extensive heat in their home. I explained the issue to Cathy and she jumped into action to assist. Within the next 2 hours, she had a technician at my parent's home and they were able to identify the issue. The technician was in touch with Cathy the entire time he was there and in return she was in touch with me. She even sent me pictures throughout the process! My parents have cool air again and I am extremely grateful. Cathy has a big heart for all of her customers. I sincerely appreciate that she felt the priority to address my parent's concern since they are older. I also purchased a unit from them a few years ago and will refer any and everyone when asked. Thank you Cathy and Service Star!

    5/26/22 - Service Star technician performed annual maintenance on a/c unit in my rental. Spent almost $500 to have UV bulb and sanitizer replaced, and all other components are checked off as good on their checklist.
    7/11/22 - tenants contact me that a/c unit is blowing hot. I contact Service Star and their tech tells me he’s busy and can not make it out to the rental same day. He makes an appointment for 10am the next day, meanwhile I contact a few other companies because I could not, in good faith, leave my tenants overnight with a hot a/c unit.

    I find a company who IS able to attend to an emergency service. Their tech tells me I need a new compressor and Freon. Since I am not on-site, I had to take his word for it in order to have the problem fixed. Asked the tech to leave the old compressor in the garage. Service call cost over $800.

    7/12/22 - Service Star tech calls me for the 10am appointment. I inform him of what transpired. His response was that he needed to call the office to reroute his schedule since my a/c unit was fixed. I then call the office and inform them of what transpired, with the hope that something can be done. I am told she (Patty) will speak with the tech (Chris) and call me back.

    7/13/22 - I call Service Star again because I did not receive a return phone call. I explain the situation again to a different rep, and ask if something can be done. I state that I think it’s odd that my compressor should need to be replaced less than 2 months after an annual service where it is noted that it’s working just fine.
    Note: I am not faulting Service Star for the work done by the other company, but I ask for them to please make some sort of effort to do something (eg. Possibly test the original compressor? If it actually DOES work, then I would be able to call the other company and deal with them about over-charging me for work that didn’t need to be done, if that were case. Or if it truly does not work, then at least I would be assured I wasn’t taken advantage of.)
    Service Star tells me they can’t do that, or anything else, to assist me with this issue.

    I am not someone who normally posts reviews. But I am so disappointed that Service Star didn’t even make an effort to TRY to appease a repeat customer that I felt compelled to let others know.

    They installed my AC in 2019 and today saved me money by detailing how to perform my own maintenance because my house wasn’t cooling. Cathy diagnosed the issue over the phone, sent me a simple detailed text and verbalized how to service the table water line and voila! So happy and grateful!

    What was first assumed to be our regular servicer turned out to be this 'Service Star' company who told me on phone 'oh yes, we've serviced your house', and, my mistake as a new homeowner, believed them. Although their service tech was professional, I was more than dismayed when the unit stopped working 12 hrs after he left!!
    I found the regular service contractor on the unit, had them come out, fix the unit, actually perform a complete annual check up, which included much more than service star did, and now all is working great.
    I would simply say, ask the questions before assuming. My fault I assumed and was led by the scheduler at Service Star to believe this business was someone else.

    Absolute scam.
    Terrible customer service. Try again and again to get us to pay thousands for work we don't need, saying "I've worked in this field for a long time and I know what I'm doing."
    I would call and they say "someone will call you back within the hour."
    That happened three times, waiting three hours without A/C in Florida. Someone finally calls me back to say they're closed...
    I regret using this company, their business model is clearly to sell you cheap up front, then scam you after.
