Purchased a Trane heating and cooling system from Performance.
Had a semi annual maintenance contract and because I am in Sarasota I had to call to remind them when the service was due. Always a issue trying to get someone scheduled. Not very responsive. Was just advised that my contract expired in August without prior notification and I am now out of their service area. Dropped just like that. Nice way to demonstrate customer retention.

Warren was the best service technician with Performance AC we have experienced for at least the last 8-10 years. We can't find words descriptive enough to describe his efforts while working in the rain with an umbrella. Absolutely the type employee I would have tried to lure to work for us when we still had a business!

The sales and install employees were professional and knowledgeable. They took time to answer all my questions (there were many along the way).

The installation required working in very extreme attic heat and outdoors all day in Florida summer temps.

All my questions were addressed throughout the install process. The install technicians were efficient and cleaned up at the end of a long day.

I have had a very positive experience with Performance so far, and I am very happy with my new HVAC system.

Performance was hired to do a large project for my father in law in December of 2019. We hired them for a big project that included all of the trades Performance prides themselves on electrical, plumbing & HVAC work. Should have known things would end up this way when from the start they sent out a plumber to give an estimate on all three. He spent a great deal of time taking pictures and consulting with the other individuals to make sure he gave us the best possible estimate. Once we received the estimate I messaged Dan and told him we were ready to sign up and could he meet us at my father in laws property to go over the contract and sign paperwork so we could get the project started asap. Not only did he not respond for hours but then responded saying that he could not honor the estimate for the original price and that it was going to be thousands of dollars more than what was discussed yet the day before he was "Sign today and I'll take even more money off but if I come back tomorrow it will be for the price I gave you today!" No big deal, we were ok with the price so when the next day came and not only was the price going to be different but it jumped A LOT. I reached out to the owner Terry and he assured me that things would be taken care of and all would be handled. fast forward a few weeks and things were not only still not anywhere close to being complete but they were also doing a horrible job. We requested that Terry and his managers come out to see for themselves that the quality of the work was not only bad it wasn't done correctly. Terry and his managers Ben & Norman came to the property where not only Terry apologized for his techs work and stated "We work on mansions so I apologize for this, we will get this done and complete by end of week." But one of his managers also apologized and said that the work of his techs was embarrassing and he shook his head as he took pictures to go over with his staff. Not only did they leave my father in laws property a mess and unfinished BUT when I left a review for the owner to call me so that we could handle the situation instead of doing so he decided to have one of his managers call and "fire" us from completing the work and threatened to have the permits closed out even though the work isn't complete. Not only is that poor business but it's a coward move!! My father in law is 68 and living in a home that has no power, no running water and no AC/Heat because of their lack of professionalism, quality of their work and ability to communicate with their clients.

They left holes all over the yard where they were working on electrical, covers missing on AC wires/pipes, plumbing equipment/pipes all over the yard and just a complete mess that my husband and I will have to cleanup and try to make sense of. Very disheartening to have a conversation with an owner that assures you "We're not like the rest" and then this is what we get?!?! How can he give me his word that he's going to make things better and then when I come to him with real time feedback or call and ask for him to call me over and over leaving messages and he never gets back to me what am I supposed to do? Leave a 1 star review asking for him to call me and instead of doing so he QUITS the job and basically tells me to "Kiss off" with his actions instead?!?!

Thomas was one of the nicest people we have ever met. He carefully explained everything before, during and after the work was done. We’ve been using Performance AC for the last few years for AC and plumbing and couldn’t be happier with their services. If you want something done right the first time with a guarantee, give them a call.

Pristine germicidal system installed and blower blade cleaned. Charles answered all my questions and concerns to my satisfaction and showed me his work. He was courteous throughout and graciously respected my request to wear a mask while in my home( I had previously had a service person from a different business react to that request in a negative way so I appreciated Charles being so respectful). I plan to request this technician on future maintenance calls.

I previously utilized Paradise air conditioning and had one more annual maintenance left in my plan. When I initially called to make my appointment I was told they couldn’t find my information or second plan remaining.I found out during the call that Paradise air was sold to performance air conditioning electrical and plumbing. The person over the phone never found my second maintenance plan however she went ahead and scheduled it.

On May 31st I had a technician come to my house by the name of Shaun who also came with another tech in training. Shaun spent probably 5 minutes in my house and maybe another 10 minutes outside looking at my unit in the back. After that, over an hour had passed and I wasn’t sure what happened. I walked outside and noticed their work truck was still outside in the parking lot. I called the customer service number and I was told Shaun would be in shortly to review my results of my inspection.

Shortly after, Shaun came to my door and reviewed my results. Shaun noted I was low on freon and my 2nd motor starter wasn’t properly working. My write up recommended I do a leak detection and he provided me an estimate for freon per pound as well as the replacement cost for the secondary motor. He provided both nonmembership a membership rates. I took time to review his findings and said I would call them back when I’m ready to schedule the maintenance requirements. My gut feeling was these prices were a little high so I called around and found another air-conditioning company, Len’s Air Conditioning.

Len’s air-conditioning company came out and quickly assessed my situation. Yes I needed freon, Unlike performance air conditioning which was going to cost me $236 a pound at a membership rate, Len’s charged me $100 a pound. Yes I needed a new second motor starter however my second motor starter was still under warranty so they didn’t charge me for the replacement unlike precision air conditioning which was going to charge me a rate of $130 for a replacement at the membership rate.

Len’s Air Conditioning also noted that my drain line wasn’t cleaned at all. I wish I took pictures of that but Performance air conditioning did not properly clean my drain line which is part of your maintenance plan. Now I may still have a leak on my unit, but for now the freon that was added did the job as well as a replacement for the second motor starter, which they did at the same appointment. At my next follow up appointment with Len’s Air Conditioning we are going to review my freon levels and see if leak detection is really required.

My final review for performance air conditioning is everything they found was correct however they’re going to charge you double for everything. Take the time to call around and get a second quote. If it seems to high it probably is.

My final charge with Len’s Air Conditioning was $255, that was with a service fee to come out which provided a maintenance review and drain clean, starter replacement which they called a replacement cap and the freon needed.

Caveat Emptor. ( caused an issue, then attempted to sell me a $2K repair for it.)

No rebate-attempt to correct, issue from management ?

$68 discount service call ; and the tech immediately diagnosed, a much needed $2K some sort of never heard of cleaning & mold treatment .

This was an annual maintenance check, my system is 2 yrs old.

Unauthorized, The Tech carved a 10'' circle freehand with a knife, in the original wall from the AC to the air ducts. This was so he could conduct the cleaning service? Then crudely taped the whole shut. AC now leaks from the holes seams. ( again this was a maintenance, mechanical check , of a newer unit.) I'm Not confident, the HVAC unit was actually serviced; as we were too busy reviewing the deathly mold issue the tech was representing.

I reported the damage to a customer service rep. whom followed up on the telephone, about two hours after the tech left. He took no action on my now compromised system; and further inquired about me signing up for their service plan.
