    I have used Thorpe Heating & Cooling in the past and I called them today to have my home air conditioner serviced for yearly maintenance. Robby was the service technician that arrived. He was very knowledgeable in his field and took the extra time to explain how certain components of the air conditioning unit operate and answered all of my questions. Robby was professional, courteous and did a thorough job. He even cleaned the leaves out and washed the unit too. I will definitely call Robby if I have any future problems with my unit. In fact, I was so pleased with the service that I had him service a relatives unit the same day and also referred him to my neighbor. Great job Robby!

    Recommend 100% GREAT customer service ! I was so upset when my account broke I am 8 1/2 months pregnant and have a 10 month little baby so you can only imagine how miserable it was for us here with no ac I called Thorpe and told them my situation and they were able to squeeze me in right away within an hour and a half we had our ac back on. Every other company told me it would take at least 4 hours to come out here but THORPE really cares about their customers and what situation they are in. Not to mention the specialist that they sent was awesome and super nice. Thank you so much for making this stressful situation easy going ! I will definitely be recommending them to everyone I know and if I ever have issues again I know who I'm going to call!! =)

    Thorpe fixed my A/C when no one else could....I had an old upstairs office that would never get below 78 degrees in the summer. We had 2 other companies come out to look at our A/C, the first said it was a freon problem. They came out a few times and finally said I needed a whole new unit. I called another company out for a second opinion and they said I needed a new coil, so we had them install one. Still no A/C!!! I met Chuck Thorpe at a BNI meeting and told him about my problem. Chuck and his service manager (Mike) came by my office, thoroughly checked my A/C and determined I just needed to add a vent!! Their technician came out the next day and had it fixed in a couple of hours. My office has no problem getting down to 72 degrees in the heat of the summer now and runs about half as much!!! Bottom line....VERY professional, VERY knowledgeable, and GREAT customer service!!! THANK YOU Thorpe Heating and Cooling!!!!

    Beware of this company. I was quoted $75 to have a tech come out and diagnose my a/c problem. While he's there, he offers to air-vac the water built up in my drain pan, then sneaks a $98 service charge for doing that on my invoice. Never in a million years would I agree to that insane price tag for the collective 15 minutes it took to vaccuum up 64 ounces of water, when I could've gone to Lowe's and bought an air-vac myself for that amount.

    When I realized how much I was charged, I immediately called the company and requested a refund for that additional amount. I was first put into contact with the tech guy, which is a strange person for the company to authorize to handle a customer service billing concern, because surprise surprise, he responded exactly the way you would expect an a/c tech to, by getting rude, calling me "cheap", and telling me "it's common sense that it would cost extra to do that." It's not a customer's responsibility to know the pricing structure when there is nothing cited on the website and the dispatch reps only quote a $75 price tag with no specifics on what the visit will include or not include, especially when the service is offered without any warning of the additional cost.

    So I finally get in touch with the two ladies in the accounting department, where they proceeded to play hot potato on the phone with me, transferring me back and forth to each other until finally she gets around to telling me that they're just not giving me the refund. Completely deceptive and unprofessional business tactics. I would highly advise against using this company.

    Well this “service” was useless. And let me first say the technician was friendly. I called and Thorpe came out the next day to give me an analysis on what was wrong with my AC unit and on the phone the gentleman told me how the fee for just coming out to diagnose was $75 and I asked if that came off the price of a repair if I choose to use them and he said “the technician will work with you on prices”. So they came out and he “diagnosed” what I told him was wrong, the fan motor was bad, and told me I needed a new one (which, again, is what I told him) and so he called for the part to see if they could get it and said they are looking it up at the shop and he would just take my card for the $75 and I should get a call soon to let me know pricing etc. I went and looked at the work he had done and the tech CUT MY WIRES TO THE FAN. Why would you do that and not tell me for one? or two why would you do that? I never heard from them. Just terrible customer service and I was charged for a diagnosis that I told the technician was the problem. If you want a good AC service use Aire Atomic. He is super friendly and gives FREE DIAGNOSIS of the problem.

    I’m giving this review based on interactions with the company. Not their work. I don’t know how there work is personally but I applied and went in for an interview and they sound honest.

    However, I went in for an interview and it went really well. In fact the guy told me I had the job and I would be an excellent addition to the team. He said he would call me back in a few days after the insurance approved me and the job was mine. Now I have a perfect clean driving record so there is no way the insurance wouldn’t approve me. It’s been over two weeks and I’ve called thorpe countless times. Every time it either goes to voicemail or they give some excuse to say they will call me back and they NEVER have called me back. The first time I reached out they said they still had to decide if the job was mine or not. So I assume the manager misspoke to me during the interview and was let down but okay with it because they said whether or not I got the job they would call me and tell me. I’ve called over 20 times in the past two weeks and have either been sent to voice mail or have gotten the same reply that they can’t answer me and they’ll call me back.

    This company has terrible communication which is sad because they looked like a decent company and said they were desperate for new hires. Well this is not how you treat people interested in your company. Thank you for your time

    I usually never give bad reviews, but I was so off -put by my treatment with Thorpe that I had to say so. I was in desperate need of a repair that could of taken 15 minutes tops to fix. (how do I know? When I called an HONEST company 10 minutes later that's what they did, they fixed it!) Back to Thorpe... I will never do business with them. They were dishonest, telling me they would have to charge me for initial visit, then another charge when they come back the next day when the ice melted off my coils. Then charge me to fill it with the freon at whatever amount...Then, After ALL THAT, they told me it still might not fix it!
    And I quote "you're looking at an $800 day". Seriously? They didn't even try to help, just kept giving me numbers and making me feel bad for a broken air conditioner! I have never been treated so poorly by a service repair person. (two actually). Tried making me feel desperate so I would what...BUY a new system?? Well, I called Ryals Brothers (no affiliation whatsoever) and they fixed me in 15 minutes for under $90. You know, they used the ol' blower on the ice like MOST companies would offer to do. They DID NOT TELL ME it would be 2 trip charges because it would take TOO LONG for the ice to melt and wait around. I could go on... Check books BE WARNED.
