I was asked by my mechanical contractor to quote a job for them that involved product only sold by Brooks Building Solutions, Inc. I reached out to Russ Gillette via phone and email to get a quote for the specific items on this job. In the email I did say I was quoting this for my contractor (not just once).
I did all the legwork for my mechanical contractor and provided them a quote. I even let Russ quote the ductless unit after I told him his line might be cheaper than the line of equipment we carry (on a phone call).
I just found out today by my mechanical contractor that Russ Gillette, reached out to him directly to get a PO for the job. My contractor was under the impression I had Russ reach out to him direct, which was not the case, and was not aware our company was being cut out of the loop.
These were the responses from Russ when I confronted him about going direct to my customer for a PO.
"We quoted this to multiple contractors, not just you"
My response was that my contractor who I did the quote for has the job.
"I thought you were quoting this as a mechanical contractor."
I never said I was a mechanical contractor and I said I was quoting this for my contractor/customer.
"We typically don't quote other reps that mark up our equipment and pass it along."
Funny as I have received quotes from Brooks on some smaller commercial jobs and never had this come up.
If you are a distributor/wholesaler/reseller and come across a job that requires product only sold through Brooks Building Solutions, I would highly recommend going the VE route with different product and submittals.
I have all the emails saved. Unfortunately we can't record calls here in FL unless it it's 2 party consent.
I will always go Value Engineered Solutions in the future if I come across any Brooks products from now on.

This company is definitely well ran. The knowledge skills and integrity of their sales and service team is impeccable. I trust this company to handle large scale projects dealing with any part of my facilities HVAC system.

They should train their drivers better, van number 47 drove on the i10 and took the Roosevelt exit at high speed, it made dangerous lane changes and almost crashed two cars with the way it drove, it seemed like a crazy person behind the wheel

I have been a prime contractor to the Federal Government for the past 7 years and have been working with Brooks Building Solutions for the past 4 years. We have utilized Brooks on at least 10 contracts ranging from $100,000 to 2 Million dollars. Brooks is a valued subcontractor to our organization in the Jacksonville area for many reasons. Most notable is the quality of their work. Brooks is second to none providing the US Navy with mission critical mechanical services. Their professional installation crews have always provided us with best in industry knowledge and equipment installs. Their service staff can always be counted on to respond quickly in the event a warranty call is needed. Brooks is simply the best in North Florida and the surrounding area.

Obviously these guys couldn't care less about safety. Some dude driving the work truck was inches from rear ending me at least 3 times. His tag started with 645... Sure hope their service is better than the worker's personalities and driving.

Brooks building solutions has been outstanding on our projects. To date we have had 3 major projects completed by Brooks and we couldn't have asked for a better contractor. The staff and technicians are very knowledgable and they have a culture at Brooks that is conducive to a positive customer experience. They are definitely #1 in my book.

We have been using Brooks Solutions on our Federal projects for several years now. I would like to commend their entire staff on their level of professionalism, and product knowledge. We are beyond pleased with with their efficiency and responsiveness while performing installations and warranty work on our many and diverse projects. I work for a government contractor on Eglin AFB. I just found Brooks and wish I'd known about them sooner! They found the product I needed quickly and cheaply, and then made sure it was expedited for a rush order I had. The sales rep was very helpful in keeping up on the order and making sure I knew where the product was at all phases of the process. A very easy company to work with!

If I could rate a zero, I would. The building where I live uses this company for air conditioning. Unfortunately, we have been without it for four days (going on five). Every email update we get says this company will be able to fix the issue the following day. I just received the third "bad news" update today (like the rest, it says "repair will not be complete until tomorrow") . It is completely unprofessional that these emails are sent at the end of their business day. I have an out of town guests and this is totally embarrassing. I could have gotten a fan on day one if I knew it would have taken this long. I have two small dogs that may be prone to overheating, and unscreened windows that are sealed. The ones that aren't sealed are hard to lift and will not stay up on their own. This is not good. Just estimate your timing better. If you service large buildings regularly, it shouldn't take five days to repair the air. If you don't like the review, blame the heat.

We use Brook to maintain two high rise buildings downtown with complex HVAC systems using cooling towers. Books, especially Steve Rowzee, has been amazing. We really appreciate everything you do to help us. Thanks.
