I explicitly asked how much an A/C diagnostic costs, and I was told $49. When the technician went to charge my card he said it was $49 for a trip charge plus a $170 per hour fee. So over $200 for an A/C diagnostic. I told him that was not acceptable because the hourly fee was not communicated to me by the scheduler. He got angry and said that he and his company deserve to be paid, challenged me to say that he doesn't deserve to be paid for his time, and that hourly charges are normal. Which is not true because all of the other HVAC companies I contacted only had a single diagnostics fee.
Absolutely unacceptable business practice. I have had DOZENS of contractors come to my house to quote everything from drywall to HVAC to insulation. They have always been upfront about costs and never surprised me with uncommunicated costs.
I did not receive a diagnostic report with any explanation of the issues or options for fixing the problem. The only follow up information I received was a quote for a system replacement for $11,000. And quotes for system replacements should be free, which just makes the service feel even more scammy. I called the company to communicate my displeasure about the non-communicated fee and to say that I was expecting a diagnostic report, but I never had any follow up communication back since then.

AVOID! this place is a SCAM! Based off of the very favorable (probably fake) reviews and the super close proximity from my home I made an appointment for some general air conditioning maintenance with Huxley. I also decided to do the $150/yearly Premium Home Service with them considering I'm a new homeowner in the area and they seemed to run the gamut of services with some extra incentives. Here's a breakdown of the terrible service I received:
Friday: Made an appointment for Monday with a window between 10-2pm
Monday: Called me at 9:30am cancelling for the day, I reschedule to Tuesday between 10-2pm.
Tuesday: 2pm passes and I call at 2:30pm and was told "the person didn't show up to work that day." I didn't receive any notification or information regarding my appointment. I then reschedule...again.
Wednesday: Service window from 8-11am where the customer service rep confirms someone will be here. Another no show. So here we are at 11:40am.
I called Huxley and demanded a refund for my premium membership which they immediately did, which is only why I'm giving them one star. They didn't ask any questions or apologize, just wanted me off the phone as soon as possible.
I gave this "company" too many chances to get it right and they just suck, period!
Go literally anywhere else!
