HVAC Gurus

HVAC Gurus replaced our existing old furnace and air conditioning with a new Daikin FIT heat pump! I collected a ton of quotes from contractors in San Jose, and Ritchard from HVAC Gurus was the only one who had experience with heat pumps--all the others strongly encouraged a traditional system. HVAC Gurus was able to install a 17 SEER variable-speed heat pump for similar price (and in one case cheaper) than the other guys could install the traditional furnace/AC combo!

After signing, the crew was on site within ONE WEEK to start the install and finished in two days. Joel, Ernesto, Sergio, Gerber, and Robert were all very patient with me and eager to address concerns. During my self-inspection, I noticed a few issues. Lior, the owner, personally guaranteed the work and insisted that I should not pay anything until everything was resolved to my satisfaction. All issues were addressed the same day.

Priya from the back office was able to schedule a permit inspection with the city super fast (typically inspections are booked out for months right now) and it went off without a hitch.

I can't recommend these guys enough. Simon came out for a quote. Told him what we needed, and he walked me through scope and recommendations, not rushing and taking time to make sure I understood and asked questions. He provided a quote quickly. Quote was higher compared to competitors which made the decision hard. Glad I went with Gurus. Jose and his crew came out and did a bang up job. System works great, team was professional and clean, and job was completed on time, on budget, and to spec. They aren't the cheapest but they are the best.

I called in for an estimate and Simon came in to do that. Once he was done I realized in chatting with him that he was the owner!! He was not trying to get as much money out of us, but trying to get the best possible product at the most reasonable price possible. He even matched us a couple hundred bucks lower that we got from another hvac company's quote. When the installation actually happened, we realized that our current thermostat was not compatible, so he threw in a new thermostat for us for free. I would recommend them to everyone! Ask for Eric Capella to do the installation for you.

I was looking to replace my old gas furnace with a more modern energy efficient heat pump. I spoke with multiple vendors and was told that California was too cold for heat pumps. This statement didn't make sense to me as most modern heat pumps work in - degrees environments. Rich was the only sales person to agree and set me up with a heat pump rated for up to -22 degrees operation. Thank you Rich, now I am staying warm and saving lots of money!

I am adding an ADU in my garage and as a result had to relocate my heating/ AC to the crawl space. I called a few companies and got a few estimates and one of the companies was “ the GURUES “. The rep name was Rich. He was very professional and went through the process and explain what they will do. They were the lowest bidder for the job so I signed the contract with them.
As promised by Rich, the relocation took only 2 days and the two gentlemen that showed up for the service knew what exactly needed to be done as promised by Rich and I am very happy with their work.
Since I wrote the above review, things has developed. There were unfinished items that the company was supposed to send someone to finish. I had to call them a few times before they send their tech to to finish it. There is still one item that they refuse to finish.
I hold $1000 of the payment until they come and finish their work but I realized that they had charged my credit card without my authorization.
Overall I am not happy with this company and they will not have my business any more.

Our home had original insulation from 40 years ago. Our interaction with HVAC Gurus has been nothing but stellar. It started from the beginning. I was very happy with Kamaal courteous and knowledgeable attitude. He very clearly explained the process, answered all my concerns and no sales pressure. We agreed via email/systems and the finance person, Priya , explained the payment plan. Their CEO Lior called to talk about a concern that I had. On the day of the project, the crew came in, very clean and organized. They were very careful to cover everything. They knew what they were doing and had their process down. They were done with the project by 4pm. They left the place spotless, we did not even had to vacuum !! I will highly recommend them to anyone.

We had an excellent experience with HVAC Gurus from start to finish. Every person involved was friendly and professional. Carmen was the lead tech when installing the insulation and he was on the ball. They did the entire job within a few hours and left our home in perfect condition. Not every company cleans up after themselves so we really appreciate their work ethic and professionalism. I would highly recommend using them and will also be using them if we ever need their services again.

I had requested the service of HVAC for split AC in my garage, new duct work to a small office room and also for air balancing for my current central AC system. Ritchard Weatherly initial came to my residence for inspection and provided detailed quote for all project separately, so that I can decide which ones I would like to get done. he also suggested that split AC for small office room is an over kill and suggested the duct work from current central AC system. On the actual day, James and Oscar came to complete the project. They realized that duct work to the office was not possible, so suggested to get portable AC for that room, but they completed the air balancing for the remaing room. Though they had shown up for a bigger project but ended up only doing the air balancing, so only charged for labor hour and a very reasonable rate. I was impressed with their professional approach and honesty and would highly recommend them.

Wonderful! I immediately felt good about HVAC Gurus when Steffi Wong, the office manager responded to my request. She was extremely prompt and professional. Simon responded to the job and was very professional, prompt, informative, and friendly. He explained my issues, gave me options, and was honest about his advice. He also gave me advice for future maintenance and care for my house in terms of fire safety. It was really nice to have someone down to earth and knowledgeable. I will definitely be using them again!
