Sunrise Energy Solutions installed a 4 ton 18 SEER condenser, 97 AFUE 100k btu furnace and 3.5-5 ton evaporator in my home at a very fair price. Dan, Zack and Dan jr also recognized the deficiency in the existing supply air plenum above the garage HVAC equipment, something that no other bidding HVAC contractor even mentioned. They built a completely sealed custom sheet metal plenum and removed the deteriorating, leaking and grossly undersized ductboard plenum that ALL HVAC BUILDERS of the 1980's and 1990's have installed, ALLOWED BY BUILDING CODES AT THE TIME, but absolute garbage. Increasing the size of the new sheet metal plenum by almost 300% has greatly allowed the supply ducts to deliver air throughout my two story 2650 sq ft house. Adding a second return air duct from the FIRST floor and splitting the 18 inch SECOND story return air duct to pull air from the Master Bedroom 15 foot vaulted ceiling has now made that room so comfortable during the 100 degree temperatures of June. Now the HVAC system can properly breathe and service all the supply air ducts with so much cooled air it is actually cold in the house with the thermostat set at 74 degrees. Dan is a master with sheet metal and with his extensive knowledge and willingness to great it right; there is no other choice for personnel nor company, in my opinion for the installation of HVAC equipment. Dan's recommendation to install a NEST thermostat with two remote sensors located in different parts of the house allows the entire house to maintain a consistent temperature with no additional AC running time. I am a retired electrical contractor and appreciate and recognize Sunrise Energy Solution's team and work ethic to conserving energy while providing a superior finished product. If you remember anything about this review, remember this: THE CPUC (California Public Utility Commission), this year, will grant PG andE several electrical and natural gas rate hikes to cover the costs of the fires started by PG and E equipment over the last few years. Electrical tier rates and gas tier rates are being adjusted to impact utility users when energy used will be at the higher rates. We, as the customer, will bear those costs. Here is my advise, for what it is worth. Any additional monies or loans needed to pay for higher SEER or AFUE numbers will be returned to the homeowner in kept (money in pocket) lower operating costs in future years of home ownership. ASK anyone who owns solar for 5 years +/- (time frame to payoff solar equipment or loans associated with the solar install), the electrical energy savings is NOW money in their pocket. The same is to be said for additional upfront money used to buy more efficient equipment. It really is a no brainer.
