FIVE STARS! We are so happy we called Access. They installed 2 heating and air conditioning units last week. Rod came to our house and explained the different choices we had and answered all our questions. He made it easy to decide on the best unit for us. Francisco, Mario and Edwin did the installation. They were professional, knowledgeable, hard working and friendly. After the installation was done they taught us how to use the new thermostats and answered our questions thoroughly. The units are so quiet we can’t believe they are running. Thank you to a great company.

I had purchased a 1,800 SF single family house in Sierra Madre that came with a 35+ year old heating and air conditioning system which needed to be properly evaluated and possibly replaced. After discovering that the American Home Shield home warranty policy that my seller had purchased for me was worthless, I screened HVAC service companies and called a couple. The first furnace company was helpful ($39 service fee), but did not put their conclusions in writing and because I had contacted them through Home Depot (a mistake on my part) they were required to add a 25% referral fee to Home Depot on to any future bill (that 25% fee would be applied to any purchase of a new system). The second HVAC service company rep was not interested in evaluating my old system, and simply tried to sell me a new system. Frustrated, I called the Southern California Gas Company. They were great. The Gas Company rep spent well over an hour analyzing the house's old furnace and AC compressor, then wrote up a reasonably thorough report using their standard forms. Though the Gas Company rep was not allowed to talk about the purchase of a new system (and the Gas Company is not in that business), this representative definitely confirmed that the major components of my HVAC system were in very poor condition (which created a safety hazard) and needed to be replaced. These service evaluations from the Gas Company are worthwhile because they are from a 'neutral party' and their service techs are very experienced. And it was free.

So, I knew my HVAC system needed to be completely replaced. After researching which HVAC manufacturer appeared to be best, I contacted that manufacturer (Lennox) for authorized and experienced systems dealers in my area, and was referred (by website) to Access Heating & Air Conditioning in Pasadena. First, Access Heating & AC sent their senior repair technician (Mark) to evaluated my house's system for themselves. Their evaluation was expensive ($218 for 2 hours) but well worth it, and in writing. Mark explained the problems with each of the HVAC components, including ones that I had not considered (for example: the diameter and layout of the ducting; the size of the copper tubing that runs between the AC compressor and the heat exchange unit near the blower). While Mark's demeanor is a little rough, he is extremely technically competent in his field and is easily one of the best mechanical service reps that I've worked with. Next, I asked Mark for who I should contact to get a quote for a new Lennox HVAC system. The following day (Saturday), the President of Access Heating & AC (Rod Rodriguez) was at my house. While Rod had learned from Mark regarding the status of my system, Rod still did his own investigation and analysis, including spending time in the basement and the attic. He listened while I explained that I planned to renovate and add square footage to the house in a couple of years, and needed a system that could easily handle that increased size and dimension. Once he had all of my information, he sat down for 45 minutes on his own and worked up 4 different HVAC system alternatives, based upon quality, operational lifetime, operational expenses, and pricing. Rod explained the pros and cons of each alternative. I settled on the second most expensive alternative. Thus after 2-3 hours on that Saturday, I signed their contract. While their backlog this time of year is normally 1-2 months, I got lucky and Rod was able to start the installation in one week. Full installation took 6 days, from demo to instruction as to how to use the smart Lennox controller. Even Access's senior installer (Steve) was excellent. Like the senior repair tech, Steve is extremely technically competent and accommodating. I highly recommend Access Heating & Air Conditioning and plan to work with them again

I needed to replace a 30 year old HVAC system that was probably 3 years over due. I received at least 4 quotes from various HVAC installers. I was very interested in the newest and best technology when making this investment. I wanted a variable system for all of the reasons that make this newer technology state of the art. In meeting with various companies I received a lot of push back regarding variable systems. They all pushed back regarding cost, complexity of install, etc. etc. I received quotes not for what I had requested, but for 2 stage systems. I was surprised at the cost I was being presented and grew frustrated. I then went to Lennox's web site and found Platinum installers in So Cal. Let me tell you how happy I am that I did that. Rod (owner) from Access Air met me at my house and we discussed all of the options. I let him know that Variable was what I really wanted. He said no problem and that they specialize in these systems. He gave me a quotes and I will say it was competitive with the 2 stage quotes. He even explained that his company would take care of all the rebates from Lennox and incentives from our local electricity and gas company. These rebates came out to approximately $2,400. Wow, that makes this deal even better. Not one other dealer mentioned rebates etc. Access air showed up and completed the total install in 5 days on time and on budget. It was seamless. I suggest if you are in the market for a new system or repairs, call Rod I cant say enough about their company and how happy I am with their install and service.

I was pleasantly surprised when I had Rod with Access Heating & Air come out to fix a problem with the condensate overflow run off on my AC system in Arcadia. He gave me a quote over the phone and fixed the problem the next day. The price was exactly what he said, no hidden or extra charges, professional, polite, and fair, great service, highly recommended.

DO NOT go anywhere else for your HVAC needs! You can, but you would be wasting your time. From the initial visit out to quote the job, to the time they left job completed, the techs took the upmost pride and personal care for my home as if it was their own. All questions I had were answered in detail and I was left feeling confident in the choice I made in choosing this company to ensure my family’s comfort and safety for many years to come. Oh, and the fact that I couldn’t find a spec of dust, from any work they had magically performed, was a HUGE plus for a neat freak like me!! If you need to “chill out” or prefer to be “hot and bothered” CALL THEM TODAY!
