Though unassuming from the outside, the food is well worth the visit. It all has a wonderful homecooked taste and feel. The service is friendly and patient, and they do well with a large group. You won't wait too long for food, and the food will definitely be worth the wait.
I recommend family style dining(order a few shareable plates) and try the pineapple rice!
Good service, average ambiance. The food here is really quite poor. It is super Americanized and tastes nothing like authentic Asian food. Everything sold here tastes even worse than panda express quality food. Really quite sad. Maybe white people will think this food is good but they haven't tried real down to earth Asian food before. Also, prices here are unacceptable for the quality of food. Way too expensive! Skip this place and go to Panda Express for better Americanized Asian food.
Our family & friends (party of 5) had dinner here about a week ago. We ordered a variety of plates, such as Basil Beef, Malaysia Crispy Orange Chicken & Homestyle Ribs, to share. The chicken dishes were just about OK - although the batter was oily. It was the beef dishes that really disappointed. The beef was cooked alright, but the quality of the beef was very poor - lots of fat and gristle. We nibbled at some, but left the rest. When asked if we wanted the remainder boxed up, we declined. I doubt we'll return.
First time visiting this restaurant on a Friday night: We were the only customers at 6:00. (A few stragglers came in later.) food was very bland. Expecting more flavors from this type of cuisine. Service was ok. A young girl who struggled a bit on the specials and describing the dishes. Very sweet tho. We were not impressed and bottom line; there a lot better choices out there.
Food was served cold, tasted like ready made food. It did not cross the average benchmark with what we’ve tried in Pleasanton, with the exception of their Rendang.
Service was horrible. We think it’s a family business and the head is overbearing towards the rest, it was painful to witness. She also calls you out by clapping her hands so she gets your attention.
Save your money for better food and decent service.
Have had lunch here with a friend several times. Our first visit was very nice which is what brought us back, but since then we've been less than happy with the food and service. On our last visit (which will be our last), the table cover was soiled, the service was indifferent (not hostile but not friendly either) and the food was just OK. Not sure what happened...?
Expected a little better ambience but should have known better for a place situated right in the middle of downtown Pleasanton. The waiters were very good provided very good service, food was ok. It definitely did not blow my mind off like other Malaysian cuisines in South Bay. It is good to go experience it once.
Not sure why there's anything below a 5 on any prior reviews. Been here multiple times now and haven't been disappointed with anything ordered by myself or my wife. Great authentic food. Coconut rice is bomb. Noodles are great. Good apps. Good service. Not pricy. No MSG. Pretty legit.
It is located in nice downtown area. There are parking spots in the back of restraunt and also street parking available. The food tasted good and portion was also good. Service was great and price was inexpensive. The only problem was the food was too oily. If it was under control, I would have rated as 5 star.
Average. We used a Groupon, but even otherwise the prices are decent for the Bay Area. Parking was not easy in downtown Pleasanton., but otherwise the location is conveniently right off Main Street.
Food was on the bland side and lacks the traditional oomph of Malaysian cooking. Maybe not every customer is the neighborhood appreciates authenticity. Beef rendang was a lightly cooked curry, not the intense, slow-cooked, oily, flavorful dish I was expecting. Nasi lemak came with barely 2 spoons of rice, and lightly seasoned anchovies. Char Keu Teoh (a standard Penang noodle dish) didn't excite me - lacked the wok-hai (intense wok burn), but instead had the typical signs of something cooked on lower heat, without proper amounts of sauce. No blood cockles, and I wasn't expecting any either. Service was pleasant and nice.
