Eight years ago, I bought a house and after I contacted several heating/air conditioning companies, I chose Stephan's Home Comfort Services to install my house’s AC/heating system. Hung Nguyen provided me the best solution and a very reasonable price. The system now still works well. Last year, the AC/heating system of my rental house didn’t work and it costs around $1000 to fix it. Because the system is over 15 years old, it should be replaced rather than spending more money several times every year to fix it. I called Stephan's Home Comfort Services and had a new system installed. Again, they gave me a reasonable price comparing with other companies prices and always commit to 2-year warranty service.

I have worked with Hung Nguyen and his team for several years. They're committed to delivering superior customer service and set excellence as their standard. Highly recommended for residential or commercial air conditioning and refrigeration.

I would avoid this place, the owner his name Hung is very arrogant and he thinks that this whole city he is the only HVAC service provider.

I called for an estimate of my central AC repair and Hung (his the owner) charged me $80 when most others are charging about $59. He told me that my unit needs a new evaporator coils replacement and he quoted me $1750 ($900 for labor and $850 for parts). I asked him if he could give me the parts number and what exactly needed and I will supply the parts. He refused to give me the size and exact model number. He also said that he don't like me going this route that just replacing the coils because it's not good. He recommended that I put in a brand new unit with new hearing furnace for a total of $6000. I asked myself, this central air only about 10 years old and it would not be cost effective to throw away everything and put in a brand new unit which cost $6000+ when heating unit are still working.

The next few days I called him and ask him to give me the parts number and what coils size to buy and he refused. He basically said that all he knows is the model number and he can't help me. I said you're the technician and you're telling me you don't know the coils size? Because I asked him that question, He said that I'm disrespectful and he won't do the job unless I let him do everything. I didn't think I say anything offensive, just the fact that I didn't let him charge me the mark up.

I called round and found another HVAC company who willing to do the same job for only $1100 (parts and labor). I also found the same evaporator coils online for $321 with free shipping. He basically marked up over $500 for the coils.

In summary, I would avoid this place. I understand a business needs to make money for a profit, but this type of practice is unacceptable and unethical. I rather pay more for an honest work. Thus, take home message here is you need to shop around and compare prices. You are at their mercy when its comes to these type of service - they will try to charge you as much as they can. There are many HVAC like this one will try to rip you off from your hard earned money. I'm glad I shops around and able to find a better deal. $1100 total with 2 years labor warranty.
