Really knowledgeable, reasonable and fair company, and concerned about helping create the best system for you. Hasslers came out and gave us many pro tips to fix a heating problem and improve our indoor air quality. They came very highly recommended after a lot of research and asking around, and I can see why.

OUTSTANDING service! I've completed both and energy evaluation and recently had an emergency leak in my water heater. Robert the comfort adviser went ABOVE and beyond for us. Pointing out key safety issues and how to resolve them and the even after hours we had questions he would text back right away, best of all we did a video chat and he showed me how to turn off the gas, water pressure, etc so that leaking water heater would not further damage our floor/house. We received a fair price for a new tankless water heater and new gas line and Furnace/AC. I'll update the post once all is installed but was so blown away by the service so far.

First, let me say that I am not much of a review writer—I don’t like doing it but I feel compelled to write this one because of the absolutely extraordinary experience that we just had with Hassler! In fact, I can’t recall a time when we have had dealings with a company, in the home repair/improvement/construction area or any other segment of the business community, really, that displayed such a consistently high level of integrity and excellence across all employees and all stages of engagement.

We purchased our home in unincorporated Mill Valley about 5 years ago and it came with about a 20-year old furnace and no A/C or serious air filtration capability to speak of. So, after getting 5 different bids to retrofit our home with the most up-to-date and sustainable technology in HVAC, we went with Hassler because of their clear professionalism in approaching the potential engineering design issues of the retrofit and in delivering the bid itself. We had no idea at the time, however, what we were in store for.

Hassler provided us with a crack team of 3 experienced, highly skilled, diligent, communicative and most congenial workers under the expert direction of a lead installer, Andy Meeks, all under the overall supervision of a Project Manager, Jason Hanson. They got the entire job done in an astonishing 3 2/3 days! They left no stone unturned in their design and installation. The crew’s intensity of focus, attention to detail, superb craftsmanship, impeccable clean-up (whoever heard of such a thing!!—they left our furnace room not only an improved space but about 1000% cleaner than it had been when they started the job) and respect for our home environment is still hard for us to believe. The work itself included opening walls, completely remodeling a closet and new duct work in order to achieve a truly efficient 2-zone system redesign.

OK, so the process was out of this world but what was the product, the end result, like? We all know that the proof is in the pudding. Since we just had the work completed all we can report for the moment is how the heating and air filtration systems function. We have a family room that is a converted garage which has a bank of floor to ceiling sliding doors—during this cool and rainy winter season, it has tended to be damp and quite difficult to heat. Now, however, it is pleasantly comfortable! The rest of the house is also a completely different environment with respect to heating and air filtration. The system is surprisingly quiet in delivering uniform heating and circulation of clean air. Finally, at every stage of the project we were provided with updates and informative education and at the finish we received a complete orientation to the very sophisticated controls of our Carrier Infinity system with all of our questions answered.

Post-installation, we needed to have the distribution of the heating tweaked a bit and it was so easy to set up. We just called Jason and he was out promptly to adjust some of the dampers that reside in the ductwork itself.

Everyone is rightly concerned about the expense of an extensive home improvement like a major HVAC retrofit and upgrade but it would be foolish to make cost the sole arbiter of anyone who is opting to have this work done on their home. This is not to say that Hassler's prices were out of the ballpark with the other bids that we received, but those other bids that we looked at were all from plumbing companies that have a sheetmetal add-on person working with them. They offer nothing like the kind of comprehensive, integrated service that Hassler provides--it's all they do. We have learned from this experience with Hassler that there really is no one out there who provides better VALUE than they do. The bottom line of all of this is that we found Hassler to be an HVAC outfit that we could trust, that we saw was unquestionably committed to quality, and that demonstrated their caring for meeting our needs as senior homeowners.

Hassler heating was quick and responsive to my call. Mike came and did an estimate and patiently answered all of my neurotic and detailed questions. He gave me many options with different equipment and price ranges. He encouraged me to call other companies and get comparison quotes. He is very honest and didn't try to up sell me on unnecessary equipment or services. He even talked to me about the best place to install supply vents and ductwork to be effective at heating the space as well as not disturbing the original architecture of my home. His team was professional and clean and a new heater and ductwork was installed in my 1930's home quickly and efficiently. I have been recommending Hassler Heating to all my family and friends!

Hassler replaced an 80 year old furnace in our 100 year old house. They did an energy audit and then took care of the asbestos ducts, removed an enormous old gas furnace and replaced it with a very efficient 3 zone one. I was very happy with the coordination between the various groups at Hassler and the neat work that Nai and his team did installing the new furnace. For the first time we have a warm kitchen . The rebates that they said might come as the result of the audit and new installation have arrived and I am pleased that I chose Hassler.

Last year Hassler Heating replaced the 25 year old forced air furnace and 50+ year old duct system with a complete new furnace and ducting system in our Berkeley home. We received several quotes and Hassler was the" best value", including obtaining for us a large energy grant credit back on the new high-energy efficient system. They did a great job, were professional, timely and responded to all our questions, including abating all of the existing asbestos wrapped ducting under the house. When we had some call back questions and concerns, particularly around the new and fairly complex zoned digital control system and fine tuning the airflows and temperature controls, Hassler came right out and responded quickly with their technicians.
As a couple of Berkeley architects who spend most of days arguing with contractors, we would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone else.
