Rob installed three new fans in our bathrooms and we are thrilled with the quality of his work. He is professional, honest, hard working and reasonably priced too.
I needed a new furnace. Rob Holland came by to survey my basement. He sent an estimate which was more than reasonable compared to other contractors.
After I had the old ducts removed which were insulated with asbestos, Rob came by to install the new furnace. After two half days, the furnace was up and running smoothly. Rob even programmed it for me.
Of all the home improvement projects I have experienced, working with El Cerrito Heating & Sheet Metal had been the most satisfying and gratifying.
Absolutely The Best!! My furnace went out and I scheduled several estimates with local companies. The first estimate was with Home Depot who wanted over 8k to install a furnace, touting that they could get me back one thousand dollars with a PG&E rebate. Then a second recommended company, gave an estimate of $5,500, but said they needed to build a special stand for my furnace because the new furnaces was shorter. BEWARE! He wanted to build some funky stand because he did not want to change the existing duct work. Then there was Sears which I canceled because I felt they would pull the same rebate stuff as Home Depot (don't fall for the rebate trap). Then Rob came out from El Cerrito Heating and Sheet Metal. Rob told me that he would be removing all the pipes attached to my new furnace, installing new ones with dampers, would be installing larger pipes to accommodate the increases air flow, would be fabricating a custom flu in their workshop, would place the heater on a manufacturer's custom pad (not a platform), and would do it all for less then all the other bids. When Rob arrived, the very next day, he was accompanied by his very capable apprentice Frank. Together they installed my new furnace in four hours. The other companies told me it would take weeks before they were available, and it would take several days to install the furnace.
When they were working on my furnace, several people in cars driving by my house honked and waved at Rob....FORMER HAPPY CUSTOMERS :)
Rob's grandfather started the company and it is now a third generation business.
In short, I can not recommend El Cerrito Heating and Sheet Metal enough....absolutely the best company I have ever worked with. Thank you Rob and Frank, for renewing my faith that there are honest, professional companies out there. You guys did a fantastically job....very much appreciated :)
So I'm working from home and my gas fire stove won't light and my only other heat are electric space heaters. Not good. I called a bunch of places, and Rob was the most responsive and least expensive of the bunch. He installed a mini-split heater and tried to repair my gas stove, but the part wasn't available. I found a used gas stove and he installed it in a couple hours for a minimal charge. Great service all around!
If you are looking for honest and quality service look no further! After our furnace wouldn't work during the holidays, we contacted another El Cerrito company and were given a $6k estimate for a new furnace. We were stunned. After glowing recommendations from two different neighbors, we then contacted El Cerrito Heating. Rob stopped by and told us the motor was broken and that it could be easily repaired for only $400-500. A few days later, he stopped by with the new part and replaced it very quickly and for only $410! 'm not sure why there aren't more reviews since the company has been around for 3 generations, but we are extremely pleased and grateful for their honesty & professionalism and high quality of work. Thanks El Cerrito Heating!
