It’s been 100 plus degrees outside for 4 days now and I can’t get an HVAC repairman out for another week! This heatwave is supposed to last a few more days! That’s completely understandable and not on any particular HVAC company. It is what it is. So, I did some research and diagnosed my own problem. I went here to buy a capacitor, but was told “we don’t sell to the public!.” Say what?!? Way to try and keep a monopoly going! These guys need more competition from the Home Improvement stores, like plumbing and electrical supply houses already have! Competition is good for all. I’m sure their HVAC clients are being WAY overcharged too. Way to take the “moral” high ground and ensure that someone has to sweat in their home until they can’t get a tech out to their home! I’m sure this policy of theirs is causing agony for quite a few this week!

BTW- I drove to Hayward and bought a capacitor from a more reputable company who was shocked to here of such a BS policy. AC unit fixed!

DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE, they discriminate against the Public by ONLY selling to HVAC contractors; even for something basic like a Capacitor which ANY educated Engineer is qualified to handle. I believe they have a sign saying their name is Rheem Heating & Cooling Supply but show up online as Heating & Cooling Supply.

GO TO the Appliance Parts Distributor instead which is close by off Dublin Boulevard, they sell to the Public.

Especially since they could easily tell the public what businesses do sell to the public such as the Appliance Parts Distributor store which is within a 1/4 mile from them on Dublin Boulevard or Grainger Industrial Supply, both of whom you can call and find out which of their store's have what you need in stock. Especially during a time of a huge heat wave where HVAC contractors are completely booked up and unavailable to come out for repairs the same day.

I can understand some things which cannot be sold to the public such as R-22 or Freon or similar controlled substances and products but for something as simple as a Capacitor which you can get online at Amazon it's boggling.

Needless to say it wasn't Rheem Heating & Cooling Supply who told me to try Ace Hardware or Grainger Industrial Supply for the Capacitor but the guy from the place in Livermore that Rheem directed me to. Since I have an Ace Hardware by my home I tried them but they don't carry the Capacitor but Ace did recommend Grainger & some place called Leo's. Long story short Leo's was an Appliance Parts Store so I did a google search and found the Appliance Parts Distributor store right there in Dublin which sold the Capacitor I needed.

I am giving this place a 1 star rating ONLY because they at least suggested a place in Livermore that might sell to the public, however they're unwillingness to sell something basic as a Capacitor to the public seems like a form of collusion for price fixing and IMO potentially illegal.

It has everything you're looking for if you're doing big jobs or small jobs. Helpful and friendly staff. Good prices also.
