Very professional and trustworthy ! I had another company " X.. bur" come out for a service call and I was quoted over $1300.00 to replace a motor. Brandon from Herring came out and did a full inspection and got the unit back up and running for a fraction of the cost.

I hired Herring to install a new HVAC system in my condo, and I'm very happy with their service. Everyone I encountered from their team was professional and effective. They took on a hard job that was refused by other HVAC companies due to my unit being on the roof. Herring was in and out in less than 2 days even with a crane, and the unit has been excellent since. I highly recommend this company and its employees.

Herring's technicians have been very nice and knowledgeable. I appreciate the curtsey call they give you before they arrive. Herring strives to keep the customer happy with good service and compensation when things go awry. I would suggest you purchase the 10 year labor warranty when buying a HVAC system. It will save you stress and money in the long-run because parts fail and labor is expensive.

A technician from Herring Heating & AC came to my shop on 4/13/18 to do a maintenance inspection on my HVAC unit on the roof top. He reported that there was a “crack” in the heating chamber and recommended a replacement of the whole unit for around $10,500. He took some pictures as proofs of the “crack” he found and switched off the heater from the roof top without telling me. At the time, he knew my shop was a newly established business. On the next day (4/14/18), the day was cold, and we could not turn on the heater to open the business. I had to call in a friend to help go up to the roof top and switch the heater back on.
A Herring receptionist called on 4/16/18 to collect a pre-paid full-year payment of $189.64 for two maintenance inspections, per their agreement, which I paid with a business credit card. When I asked why her technician switched off my heater without my knowledge, she stated it was “by law” he had to do so.
Three weeks later, I called in a technician from a different company to give me an objective and independent inspection of the HVAC unit. He then reported that there was nothing wrong with the unit and asked what I wanted him to inspect. After I relay the story and pictures from the Herring technician, he explained that it was a minor “scratch” on the chamber surface, not a “crack,” and that the unit was working fine.
At the end of July 2018, I called in a third technician from another company to inspect the HVAC unit again, without telling him the story. He also reported that the unit was fine and needed freon in the next maintenance to get ready before winter. After I relay the story and pictures from the Herring technician, he said that he had inspected the unit carefully and thoroughly and that “crack” was just a minor “scratch.” He commented that some companies wanted to force sales on new businesses and there is no law that allows an HVAC technician to switch off a customer’s heater without their permission.
I called Herring on 8/6/18 to relay the inspection reports from the two independent technicians and requested a refund of $94.82 (half of the pre-paid payment) for the second maintenance inspection that they are supposed to do in October 2018, because I can no longer trust them. She promised me a call-back after consulting with the company owner. Since she never called me back, I called again on 8/16/18 and she stated the payment is non-refundable. When I said there was an agreement between us, no contract, and the agreement does not state payment is non-refundable, she said it is their policy.
Since I was unable to reach a resolution with Herring, I opened a dispute with my credit card company.
No, I will not recommend this company for HVAC services.

I highly recommend Herring Heating and Air. A friend recommended them to me and I couldn't be more pleased. Brandon was very thorough and they didn't try to upsale me to anything. They are my go to for all my heating and air needs from now on! I will recommend to all my friends!
